Getting ready to pull the trigger on my new sound system, and the Denon 9.2 is out of stock. Same for the Marantz.

Are they getting ready to announce new 2021 models, or is everyone building a home theatre right now??

All receivers are hard to find because of this reason.

No problem, but the U8G has received some pretty rave reviews, every TV has its own issues. For a 65' at $1299 it's not bad. More expensive doesn't mean better, that's where buyers get caught up. I own the 55" CX and I'll stick with this for as long as it keep going. Once you go Oled you ,know there is no going back to anything else lol.

My issue with Hisense, is the Quality Control. You wouldn’t believe how many Hisense sets get returned at Best Buy.

Just brought home the Sony Bravia XR A80J OLED. OMG.........this is the best looking OLED I ever saw in person. The picture quality is GODLY. The sound is pretty damn amazing too. Sony has truly out done themselves.

Youtube videos don't do this tv justice. I know a lot of reviewers said this tv get mighty bright for an OLED and OMG they weren't lying. Get brighter then the LG CX and C1 most definitely by a good margin too. The OS is snappy. The remote could be better, considering how long it is, they should have made the buttons bigger. That 4K 120 gaming on the Xbox Series X and PS5 is smooth. Didn't think I would ever see a TV better then the CX, but here we our. It is better.

It's tradition I always play these videos on OLEDs to test them out.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Decided to dive into a new OLED as opposed to waiting for the new 8K Z9J. Ordered an 83" A90J and am pretty stoked. I know it won't be the light cannon of my 940E (which has excellent local dimming and black levels for an LED) but think the pure black and better contrast will be an even trade-off, along with better motion. It's dim and dark room viewing only as well.

Had been worried about burn-in risk but realized I have a ten year old plasma that is being retired now and it's still perfect...despite my son loving his COD and same game all the time habits (with various TV in between).

                      Pretty excited!

Thoughts on the A80J for everything (gaming, movies, tv)? Want to get a new TV for my mom and was thinking about just an average new TV, but I got a new job at Abt and can get a discount on TVs now so i might get a new TV for myself and ship my mom the CX.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

It's excellent. Bright HDR. Does 4K 120 HZ, can do Dolby Vision at 4K 60HZ. Has low latency. Has an IMAX movie mode for Imax movies. The sound is amazing because it comes from the glass itself. Tomorrow one would be my first full week with it. I love it. Played Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X on it. Watched various movies, tv shows and sports on it. To me the color pop more on the A80J then it did on the CX and C1.

Out of the box it just look stunning, but then again Sony is known for it's picture quality and been the king of that forever. The only thing it don't do currently is VRR. Suppose to be a software update for that eventually. There are a lot of settings you can do in the picture settings. So if you a tweaker, this would be heaven for you. The interface is pretty snappy running google tv as the OS. The remote is very long.

Keep in mind the A80J only have 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and one of them is also the eArc port. Me personally it don't bother me because I don't hook up sound bars or receivers via the eARC anyway.

10 out of 10, Sony is the new OLED king this year. LG have more HDMI 2.1 ports and VRR, but their picture quality is not on the same level as Sony.

First impressions of the A90J...OMG! Just phenomenal depth with the true blacks and resulting contrast. Almost a brand new picture, and I'm coming from an excellent full array LED. Just stunning image quality and motion. Watched Hamilton in DV and it was like a whole new experience.

Going to watch some 4K discs and get some gaming in, along with the soccer tourney finals, this weekend.

                            Just wow!

Took advantage of a BuyDig deal for the LG 65" C1+4 year Warranty+$100 Visa gift card for $2096.

I've been using a 65" 4k Vizio I bought in 2015 when 4k technology was still pretty new, so it was missing a lot of features that are standard in TVs now.

Coming from that, this is an uncomfortably good TV. I actually feel like it's too bright or too dark at times, largely because I'm used to a dimmer screen with uneven back lighting and everything. It'll take me a while to get used to it I feel, and then it'll probably become the standard that I measure TVs against.
