I was going by 8 probably being greater than 7 equaling newer and it being more expensive...oh well, not a big deal, just making a point about conditioning.

I would agree going with the 8 would make sense

I finally went with the LG C2...beyond impressed with model. I am glad I was patient, getting a good price, and not feeling guilty at all.

First-world problem, but want to see if any of my other fellow C2 owners are experiencing this:

I have a Yamaha receiver hooked up to my C2 via HDMI ARC. I have SIMPLINK enabled on that port. Everything worked fine until about a week ago, but suddenly my receiver won't turn on when I turn on the TV. The TV defaults to the TV sound. If I go into the TV settings and change the sound output to HDMI, it turns the receiver on. If I turn the TV off, it turns the receiver off. But the next time I turn the TV on, it defaults back to the TV sound and I have to repeat the process to get the receiver on.

Any ideas? It worked just fine until recently, I'm not sure why it's suddenly not working.

Anyone here have an LG G3? I have a C2 that I use in the living room and love that tv. Recently bought an S90c and to be honest I’m not really that impressed. The colors just look wildly saturated but nothing that blows me away. Thinking of returning it and getting a G3 for the man cave.

CES time. My favorite time of the year when most of the TVs and tech in general that is coming out this year is announced.

the 115" will likely be around $20K, still cheaper to do a projector and screen, but it's interesting.

The problem with projectors is light, so this is an option for non-theater rooms.

My over 5 year old Samsung got a led panel issue, was able to find the pin and tape that one off to get it running again. Can't believe how they built it with everything attached directly to the panel so you can't fix it.

Need to look at the TVs announced and see what I want to get.

@Scott or anyone else have experience with a UST projector with ALR screen? I'm thinking about going with a 120" floor up (build some cabinet to hold screen, projector, and other equipment) but just don't know how different the contrast or blacks will be. Plus watching tv/sports in the day time.

As good as the TCL and Hisense large screens look, the size, installing, warranty issues and getting anything fixed is going to be a nightmare for those budget brands. Thinking I may be able to live with a slightly worse PQ but get the 120" other benefits.

So in regards to the Hisense screens, they will be brighter, but are limited to 100" so far. I've sold some UST projectors in the past, that people used in living rooms. I'd look at the following: Formovie Theater, Epson LS800, LG HU715 and Samsung L9 Premiere
