Honestly it's a tough call, and just depends on your budget. Speed wise they will be pretty close, the i5 will edge out the A10 but not by so much as to make it a deciding factor. The A10 still has the original warranty on all the components, it also has USB3.0 and is a full sized MB (i5 looks like microATX) that would support crossfire (if you ever chose to do so). Assuming you aren't buying an OS, the difference is really warranty/newness vs an extra $125. Maybe make an offer of less to AMD guy, get the best of both worlds?Comment

I'd definitely offer the AMD guy. Wish he'd ship it. May end up building a comparable build. I love the new A10 w/ 7 series GPU integrated. The bottleneck will quickly be the CPU of the older i5/i7. Some of the a little older tech such as those will limit the speeds of a new GPU. Just keep it in mind. If you can get them for around the same, I'd definitely go with AMD. Then again, I have no brand loyalty, and want the best priceerformance ratio.

- Windows 7-style Start menu with Windows 8 enhancements
- Search for Windows 8-style (Modern UI) apps
- Pin desktop and Metro apps
- Boot directly to the Windows 8 desktop
- Windows 8 Start screen accessible from the Start menu
It's $5Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I got bored today and decided to dust out all 3 of the PCs in my house. One is brand new, one 5 years old, one about 7-8. The 7-8 year old one used to be real loud. I narrowed it down to the GPU fan last time I took it apart. I went in there this time and the fan was hanging from the card which explains why I haven't heard it. I took the card out and put the fan back in, but like before it barely spun. I tried to get it back out and I ended up ripping the entire motor and mount with it. So I said F it and just cut the fan wire to take it out. I am thinking that wire also looped back and told the GPU the fan had power, because now I can't get video -_- The worse thing is the mobo doesn't have video, so I have to try to find a card that is compatible with PCI 1.0.Comment

Thanks for your expert opinions gentlemen, I've learned a ton from Tom's Hardware but it was just getting waaaaay too time consuming for me.Comment

Here is a link to great site that allows you to install many programs without having to do it yourself, great for new builds. Just pick what apps/programs you want and let the installer take care of everything else. Very handy after reformatting/new build, etc.
