How much did you stress test? Or stable is it'll run everything you need to? If the latter, then yea, same as me about. I got a little more out of it, but it wasn't worth it since I do numerical stuff. If you were able to stress test, I'd like to know your cooling setup. Or maybe I just got a poor chip.

I didn't stress test too much. I think I left prime95 running for about an hour or two to just to be sure and that was good enough for me. There's nothing that I do in my daily use that will put that amount of stress on it for that long, so I guess you could say it's "it'll run everything I need it to" stable.

I have the same cooler as you too, the 212 evo in push/pull configuration.

Finally decided I think I'm going to get the Cooler Master TX3. It's smaller than the 212 evo so it should fit in my case a little better, won't have to worry about taking everything out for the back mount, and based on comparison videos the noise is wayyyy better than the stock heatsink.

I do have another question for you guys. Right now I only have one of the two case fans hooked up since I only had one place to connect it. Should I try to hook up the second one? I know that I'm going to need some kind of adapter to do it, but I'm not sure which one to get.

Yes, you should, adding airflow can only help.

Definitely add it. In terms of connection, it depends on what you want to spend and/or how complex you build is. The cheapest, most basic solution is to simply get a Y adapter for a couple bucks.

I also got the same cooler master hyper 212 evo, with a pair of corsair SP120s in push-pull. I only have the FX-6300, but was able to overclock from 3.5GHz to 4.5GHz and been running stable now for a few weeks. that was actually without having to raise voltage levels, so I could go a bit higher, but I think 4.5 is good enough.

Any chance you could link one for me? I'm having trouble finding what I need on Newegg which is where I'll probably get the cooler from.

Cool thanks! Would that work better than a 3 pin to 4 pin/Molex adapter? I've seen that mentioned a couple times as well when looking for information.

I currently have a radeon 5850 card video card. Looking to upgrade. What are the best cards out there in the $200 range. The 5850 has held up extremely well.

looking to add some memory and a video card and I should be all set. Still running an i7 overclocked to 4.0 with liquid cooling in a coolermaster tower. Its amazing, I've had this computer roughly 5 years and this is the first time I've seriously thought about upgrading.

It almost doubles the performance. 750ti is a stout little card.

You do realize you compared your card to a 550 Ti and not a 750 Ti right ?
