    Re: Gotham

So far I've seen two actors from The Wire.

Honestly, this is probably the most Joel Schumacher take on Gotham since Batman & Robin. If there were flashing neon set pieces and neon gang wars going on the dialogue and acting would fit right in to those movies.

I'm enjoying it for all the corniness that only a comic-book can muster. The dialogue is so loaded with dramatic metaphors and imagery that I can't help but laugh for the actors as they are forced to keep a straight face.

You're right. I found Catwoman to be very sexual. I loved Michelle P. as her.

Considering in her very first appearance in comics with Batman clearly smitten by her and essentially letting her go while Robin's all "oh brother, Batman's in love with that chick!". Catwoman has always been an intriguing character as she's gone from being a villain, to a reformed villain who had to prove that she didn't commit crimes to being an outright villain who uses her sexual wiles to soften Batman's stance on bringing her in....So yeah, the sexual side of her character has always played a big role though I conveniently wipe out the "Catwoman as hooker" idea that Frank Miller brought in and which hampered the character for a few years.

I just binge watched the first 3 episodes after having it saved on the DVR. Not much to add other than I enjoyed it so far. Like others have said it does seem they are rushing a little to get so many characters introduced early on but we'll see if they can pull it off.

                Re: Gotham

I ilke it. It's a good mix of real drama with some fantasy. You know who is who, so you kinda want to see what the progression is for that character. It's got a bit of an edge, but then the laughable (almost video game cinematics) dialogue is to be expected. I actually like McKenzie and how he is playing Jim Gordon.

I don't usually watch the spoiler for the next episode, but I have been sof ar with this series - so that's saying somehting!

Well Bullock is a bigger guy AND this is a fresh faced Jim Gordon. He hasn't been around the block enough. Give it time, he'll get the upper hand sooner than later on this series.

Really liking the show so far. IMO, the best part of the show is the relationship between Gordon and Bullock.

Balloonman? Am I the only thinking that this plot could have worked with Adam West and Burt Ward?

I do enjoy the mash of styles with Gordon and Bullock playing a love-hate buddy cop dynamic in a high fantasy setting. I'm not really digging the Barbara/Montoya storyline and where that is going to eventually wind up. Bunch of scene chewers, though, Jada Smith might be the best thing about the show by far. And Major Rawles is god-awful as Falcone.

Gordon has no stache. He needs one though. He looks nothing like the Gary Oldman version. I don't think the actor will grow one for part anyway.
