Apple TV on the kid's playroom TV.

and my informal living/entertainment room is a TCL Roku TV.

I've had them all and I honestly think Roku is my favorite. My firestick is slow and sluggish in comparison. Apple TV seems to suck the most bandwith, but if you have a lot of content purchased through Apple it may be a good way to go.

Just picked up my new 4K Firestick and it's very responsive. Plus the new controller making it practically a mini-universal controller is ideal.

When I picked it up at BB, the guy said I was lucky I got one. At $25 they went fast.

I have a few of the Roku devices. They work fine but I just picked up a Firestick cheap this past weekend and the possibilities seem pretty endless with this gadget.

There certain things you can do to speed up that firestick. Clear the cache on your apps is always a good thing to do. Turn off auto video and auto sound on start up is another you can do. Turn off notifications , delete apps that you don’t want or use.
          Turn off data collecting.
That sort of stuff goes a long way to keeping your firestick running well.

Lots of great side apps can be loaded onto that firestick.

A lot of material released on HBO Max yesterday:

                  Will be available May 2020.
Price is $14.99 a month. (Will be free if you already subscribe to HBO Now - as long as you have the subscription through HBO)

                  Tons of content it seems:

Game of Thrones prequel (House of the Dragon)
                  Green Lantern series
                  Doom Patrol Season 2
                  Most of the DC movies
                  Southpark
                  Big Bang Theory
                  Friends
                  Fresh Prince
                  Looney Tunes
                  Sesame Street
Adult Swim shows (ie Rick and Morty, Space Ghost, Robot Chicken)
                  BBC shows (ie Doctor Who)

The list goes on and on, so I will stop there.

I know the price seems a little high, when compared to Disney +, but the overall content seems large and may be worth it. Ill probably end up dropping Netflix when this officially drops and just picking this one up.

Now that PS VUE is dead my wife and I are forced to find something else, looking at Youtube TV and HULU Live TV and likely going to go with Youtube TV for one reason: AMC.

However, neither have NFL Network or NFL Red Zone so I guess during football season we will have to get the Sling Blue package and add them in for an extra $25 a month.

At a certain point, at this rate, it may end up being cheaper just to go back to cable, LOL

                      Right!

I got an email the other day from AT&T Now that my package will be going up to $75.

We have this thing called TDS Fiber coming to my area, might be looking into that.

Yeah, I don’t have Vue but was planning to get it to replace DirecTV since my free ride with them is now over due to being laid off there. I was really bummed to see Vue was getting cut the other day.

YTTV and Hulu Live looked great... until I saw no NFLN and RedZone.

I’m looking at fuboTV, very sportscentric and has a few of the channels I’m looking for for my son to watch (Nick & NickJr but no Disney, I believe). Don’t really watch TV outside of that, NFLN I usually will throw on in the background. Technically, I do have a login to watch those but want the local affiliates and NBCSN-Philadelphia for Flyers games.

My big concern right now is when PS4 will add these other streaming options to their app selection. I assume it’s coming but haven’t heard anything yet. I like to use my PS4 as my entertainment hub but am a bit froze out at the moment. Might bite the bullet and get a cheap laptop to stream since I have the appropriate hookups for my TV. My desktop is in a completely different area of the house. Thought about a Chromecast or Firestick but don’t know enough about them right now.

But I agree, it might make more sense to add cable through my internet provider (Verizon). I think I’ve got about 6 more months at $43 for Internet, if I add cable I can probably get another year’s worth of promotion cost. Will have to do the math.

Yep. Man if YouTube TV can get NFL Network and Redzone it would be the ultimate. It's such a good product. Quality and features. But no NFL kills it for me. Sling sucks other then Redzone and NFL Network. They don't have much else. But I have it just for that reason. Blah.

If we ever lose our current pricing I'm cancelling AT&T TV Now. We've been with them since their beta phase and at one point it was $30 for 105 Channels, but they've slowly been going up.

For what we pay monthly now you can only get 45 channels for the same if you're a new customer. That's why I stopped recommending it to people. I don't see how their product is appealing to new customers at all.

I'm glad I joined them when I did, I got the 90+ channels for $45 or w/e it was when I started.

The plans for new customers are a joke!
