Re: Cord cutting
Do cable and sat TV still require contracts or have they gone month-to-month like almost all other subscription based services?

Re: Cord cutting
Not for me. Too few of the services are worth paying month to month, it'll be way too easy to just carry Netflix or Hulu through the year with HBO, and then just sign up for whatever when I can binge what I want in a month.
Like Disney+, I want to see the Mandalorian, but I don't see any reason to be resubbed after it ends.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Cord cutting
I'm pretty sure contracts still exist. I cancelled DirecTV earlier this year and I had to payoff the remaining months to cancel early. When I see these cable deals, I click more details and it shows the discounted pricing months 1-12 but then it gets more expensive the next year and even more the year after that. So I imagine that would be a contract too.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
With a streaming option you can plug up anywhere unlike cable. I had Direct TV for a 2 year promo and aside from the nightmare that ATT has become I found the signal would be lost in most any rain or high electric in the air.
Down to Netflix and YTTV.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
Was looking for a way to stream TCM without one of the bigger services, and came across AT&T Watch TV. $15 a month for a decent selection, minus any dedicated sports networks. Cheapest way to get the Turner channels. Will give it a shot.Comment

YouTube TV would be perfect for my needs but it isn't available in my area.

Re: Cord cutting
YouTube TV has shown up on PS4 apps just in time for the Vue shutdown. Cool!
YTV seems like it’ll be my pick. Right now I’ve got a login for something else that’s allowing me to watch most everything I’m interested in but Flyers games. Probably get a YTV sub as playoffs get close to check that box.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Cord cutting
Finally made the call to get rid of cable today. Pretty sure I'm going with youtube tv, started a free 2 week trial today. All in all will be saving over 100 a month from what I was currently paying and at least 50 a month from the deals they offered me to stay.
I pretty much never sit down and turn the tv on just to flip through the channels, its all different streaming services, a few shows that I keep up with, and sports. Only sports I'll really be missing is the knicks and **** those *******s. And I actually pick up SNY which my cable company had dropped for a few UConn games a year.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
