    Re: Cord cutting

The price is going up to 65 now? I thought it was 50? 15 increase? Darn I have Comcast and I was really thinking about going to YouTube tv as I did a trail for it a long time ago and it works well and my Comcast bill as really been going up. Like 6 months ago my cable/internet bill was like 140 now its like 189 and my phone bill as also went up like 12. I have not even really been watching tv the last 4 months with no sports. Sports are really the only reason I even still have cable. The last 4 months with no sports I have just been watching a lot of disney+/hulu and playing a lot of video games.

I don't have it but I'd never get it at that price

I think a lot of these TV/cable replacement streaming services went into this thinking they'd grow a huge install base with low prices (compared to actual cable) and then eventually work the prices up to actually make money, but they are realizing how much of a dead end that is.

Yeah it sucks. I have YouTube TV with CenturyLink internet. I'm going to look into CenturyLink's deal with DirecTV now and see what their prices look like.

            Re: Cord cutting

Yeah internet is not cheap either and so if you are paying for internet and then the price to stream stuff it may not be cheaper then just getting internet and cable. Right now I think Comcast cost about 95 by its self for the internet I have. If YouTube tv is 65. That would mean 160 for YouTube tv and internet and that would still be about 20 more than I was paying like 6 months ago for Comcast internet and cable. I understand that things get more expensive inflation after all but YouTube tv I think went up from like 45 to 50 just like a year ago or something. So if its 65 that is a 15 increase after just having a small 5 increase like a year ago. When YouTube tv started about 3 years ago it was 35 so it has almost doubled in those 3 years.

For me internet is $175 a month and cable is ridiculously expensive here which is why I use Hulu live tv. I don’t think it’s possible for Hulu to be more expensive than GCI who is my cable option.

Currently on a Spectrum 2 year deal for internet. Expires end of December paying $55 monthly. Probably going up to $80-$90.

Had YT TV at $40 now $55 going to $65 Mid August. Only difference in my area between Hulu and YT TV is AMC Paramount and MLB. Hulu is currently $55 in my area might just go with that. $65 to stream is nuts the only benefit over cable is the ability to watch in any room with an electrical outlet. No need to be tethered to a cable box. I guess with the apps available that might no longer be the case though?

Suxs that youtubetv price going up, good thing about streaming it easy to switch to a different service. Probably try hulu next. At least the internet prices seems to be coming down in my area. Went from 80 down to 50 bux for 1gig fiber.
Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
                    Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....

I got CenturyLink's price for life at $60 for pretty good speeds. That keeps costs down a bit for me but I'll see what packages they have with TV

                        Re: Cord cutting

I've been with AT&T U-Verse for years. I've been able to negotiate a decent price, but until I get fiber I'm capped at 18 mbps for my internet speed. So I'm thinking of switching to a new internet provider and going with YouTube TV when my AT&T deal is up in another month or so.

I'm running the trial of YTTV right now. A couple of questions:

                        1. I'm watching MLB Network right now. The framerate, especially during pitches, isn't the greatest. I'm 99 percent sure that's due to my slow internet and won't be a problem when I upgrade. I'd be at 200 mbps if I make the move. For those of you with decent internet, is framerate a problem?

                        2. First-world problem, but the only way I can find to get back to the main menu (the one with Library, Home and Live) is to press stop on my remote. I also can't find a way to get back to the Live TV guide once I start watching something. I've pressed every button on my TV remote and the universal remote I have. Guessing I'd need to find a better remote.

I end up flipping back and forth a lot during college football season. I know there's going to be a little bit of a buffer with any streaming, but I'm trying to figure out how to do that with YTTV.

                          Re: Cord cutting

1 thing I envy about things offered in the US, it's tv/internet services.

My ISP is trying to rip me off and have me paying way more for my current plan than I'm paying now. They claim no better deal is available than paying $200+ a month.

Sent their head office retention department an email(others have told me they got better deals from there) and will see what happens.

And companies wonder why people are cutting cable.

Imagine if Netflix,YoutubeTV,Amazon Prime Video or whoever was $9.99* a month.

The * being that customers who work out deals could get it for $6.99 a month, and the suckers who stay with them get their prices raised to be $15.99 a month. So it's not actually at all what they advertise, as theres customers paying more than the advertised price, and some paying less.

Don't know how things like this is legal when it comes to tv/internet providers.

#1 I have never noticed framerate issues with YTTV. I usually get around 200-300 DL speeds.

#2 I can press exit (or back button on my firestick remote), or down on my remote and the library, home, live options pop up. This is with either the app on my Sony TV, or using a firestick.

Pressing back on my TV remote works as well for me.

Assuming I'd be able to renegotiate again with AT&T, cost would be about the same for me. But with WOW/YT TV, I'd be paying for faster internet rather than extra channels I don't watch. Definitely tempting to go that route.
