That's annoying for families using this though. Like my kids might have something on in the play room and my wife in the living room. Or my daughters watching one netflix show in play room and son another in living room.

Its fine if you're in the same general area, ie same house...it's just two different geographical addresses that it comes into play

Then you are fine.
We do it all the time.
My daughter will be watching something in her room, me in my room, and the GF in the living room.

You just cant watch under the same account from different addresses.
Like i cannot under one account watch at my house and my GF cant watch at her house 5 miles away. It knows the 2 of you are not at the same general area.

Had to get 2 new FireSticks and @ $29/ea. was better than what I paid in the past. Plus, the newer version now have a built in detector to work with your TV for power and volume controls, so other than the other smart TV functions your TV controller normally would do, the FS controller is all in one now! Seems to be a bit less bloatware too.

i wish amazon added more android features like be able to kill apps not being used in the background, the alots of apps running in the background from a restart that cause the firestick to slow down after while.

Go into your settings and turn stuff off!
That will help your firestick run fast.
Turn off data collecting too and allow third party apps.
There’s more but I have already had one post deleted.
Not sure why. I never mentioned any IPTV services

There is no mentioning of jail breaking or links to sites to help you jailbreak.

It really isn’t jailbreaking though.
Just about where to go into settings to help with making it run faster.

I clear out the caches all the time for the apps. Screensaver and Amazon Photos seem to build up on the Fire Sticks. Not sure why or how you would have multiple apps open. When you back out, I assume they close. The processing speed on the newer ones are better. I also still have a box which I don't think they sell any longer and the processing speed is excellent.

You can also turn off the auto play feature when on the home screen. You know those little preview videos? Turn it off.
Game Center or game circle, can’t remeber what it’s called. Turn that off too.

backing out of an app doesnt close similar to the phone, but the with the phone you can easily pull up the background tasks and clear all. with amazon you manually have to go and close each app. if you download background apps from the Amazon AppStore can see all the process running the background, you might be surprised at how many apps run in the background from just from turning on the firestick

For any of you that have upgraded from a standard fire stick to a fire stick 4K was it worth it ? Is it really faster, and do any of the popular apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, YouTube stream in 4K ?

From what I read it’s faster but a lot of that could be placebo. But I always trust OS users to tell it like it is. Amazon has them 50% off for prime day.
