I thought The 6 was a little odd to put on at the prime time 6 pm slot. I’d rather see regular Sportscenter on then, personally.

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
Nah. Even when it was regular SportsCenter people still weren't watching.

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
I didn't know that Michelle Beadle hated football that much. She will be leaving the low rated Get Up program.

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
That was a very good segment....Kinda heavy for a morning show though!
I don't think Beadle hates football per se but rather the whole culture and outright lying that reinforces said culture.
As for her leaving Get Up well....September/October is going to be a huge litmus test for that show. If they can't get decent numbers during football season than they might as well pull the plug.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Very genuine take from Beadle.

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
To be honest, on another forum where I talk the most football, there has been a regular sentiment that it is getting harder and harder to justify the time and energy that we put into football. It's CTE, it's coach's protecting domestic abusers (coaches and players), it's a number of gross owners in the NFL, and on top of all that, the product is suffering each year because the people running it are dumb and *******s.
I'm following the NFL for one reason this year, and that is I've waited a lifetime to root for a 1st round drafted QB for my favorite team, whether it was the St. Louis football Cardinals in the 80's, or the Chiefs ever since. But in many, many ways, I have to admit that I'm being a hypocrite.
I watched Concussion with my wife, and that made it even harder to justify watching the sport to her. Throw in the domestic violence stuff, the offensive ads for Hooters by Gruden (as well as a lot of other ads), and she sees football as a sport that could give two ****s about her. She's not wrong.
In my opinion, we are watching the last years of the NFL's dominance.
I'm still on board out of habit. Football is a sport in which a number of all time greats in the Hall of Fame are on record saying they would not let their children play. That's a pretty huge red flag.
And my wife used to go to Chiefs games with me when I had season tickets years ago. She has watched a lot of football with me. But she is not really a big sports fan, so the issues just make it something she chooses to not invest in anymore. I will probably be there with her sooner or later.Comment

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
I guess I agree with Jalen Rose, this is bigger than football. It actually came across as strange to me just seeing the headline, like I wonder if this is something she'd not thought a lot about until recently or if she really believed before that football cared about women because I'm not sure what would've led her to that conclusion. Just seems a little odd.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Originally posted by Jr.Exactly. The treatment of women goes far beyond football. Just look at the person that won the presidency. There are few people who treat women worse than the person that runs the country.
I thought Beadle was spot on, have always liked her and enjoyed her on SN with Cowherd.
