I wish tOSU had fired Urban , then ESPN hired him to do a revamped SportNation with Janelle Hill.

To be honest, on another forum where I talk the most football, there has been a regular sentiment that it is getting harder and harder to justify the time and energy that we put into football. It's CTE, it's coach's protecting domestic abusers (coaches and players), it's a number of gross owners in the NFL, and on top of all that, the product is suffering each year because the people running it are dumb and *******s.

I'm following the NFL for one reason this year, and that is I've waited a lifetime to root for a 1st round drafted QB for my favorite team, whether it was the St. Louis football Cardinals in the 80's, or the Chiefs ever since. But in many, many ways, I have to admit that I'm being a hypocrite.

I watched Concussion with my wife, and that made it even harder to justify watching the sport to her. Throw in the domestic violence stuff, the offensive ads for Hooters by Gruden (as well as a lot of other ads), and she sees football as a sport that could give two ****s about her. She's not wrong.

In my opinion, we are watching the last years of the NFL's dominance.
I'm still on board out of habit. Football is a sport in which a number of all time greats in the Hall of Fame are on record saying they would not let their children play. That's a pretty huge red flag.

And my wife used to go to Chiefs games with me when I had season tickets years ago. She has watched a lot of football with me. But she is not really a big sports fan, so the issues just make it something she chooses to not invest in anymore. I will probably be there with her sooner or later.
I lost a lot or respect for her with the Ruben Foster deal.
She really owes him an apology!
She demanded that he be cut when his ex said he abused her.
Beadle went off on him when he said it wasn't true. Then the ex came out and said she made it all up.
Beadle refused to apologize, again I just think that's totally bs.

As for her leaving Get Up well....September/October is going to be a huge litmus test for that show. If they can't get decent numbers during football season than they might as well pull the plug.
They need to pull the plug and force him back to Mike & Mike. He had to go and ruin a good thing because he thought he was better than that and people would watch him elsewhere.

              My thoughts exactly.

She says she can’t wait for the NBA, as if they don’t have their own issues, even though they’re nowhere near as bad as what the NFL has dealt with.

Mike & Mike had to be the corniest sports show to ever hit the airwaves. Neither of those guys said a single interesting or thought provoking thing in all the time they were together. Seriously, the two of them are so damn vanilla, I don’t know how anyone could waste time out of their day listen to that nonsense.

In fact, I find the entire Golic family insufferable.

Whatever happened to Michael Smith? Haven’t heard a thing about or from him since his SportsCenter show got the axe. Did ESPN shelve him until his contract expires or something?

I love Golic, his son not so much.
And there is no way Mike and Mike ever work together again.
Greeny did some shady things behind Golics back.
