Re: Avengers: End Game
Not sure, but RDJ makes back-end profits based on the box-office numbers. I believe he's been doing that at least since the first Avengers film, if not since the very beginning with Iron Man.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Avengers: End Game
It's not worth staying for honestly. The audio speaks to something that's going to happen that you pretty much could already guess. They did show the Spider-Man trailer, however. Also, we started up a conversation with the family next to us who had an older elementary school aged daughter. Since I have pics in my phone of my collectors comics in case something happens to them, I showed her a few silver and bronze age books I have for the Avengers and Tales of Suspense... it was pretty cool to connect that way.Comment

Re: Avengers: End Game
Box office update. Endgame is chasing Avatar twice right now. Obviously the big one is for the worldwide record. Currently as of the numbers posted this morning Endgame still sits behind Avatar's $2,776,345,279 with $2,485,499,739 so still a ways to go before they can overtake them there.
Meanwhile at the domestic box office, Endgame is officially in the top 3 films of all time and should pass up Avatar fairly soon.
1) The Force Awakens $936,662,225
2) Avatar $760,507,625
3) Endgame $723,499,739Comment

Re: Avengers: End Game
I saw a video that talked about numbers for other movies. I think RDJ got $25M for civil war. Scarlett is getting $15M for her solo movie. Hemsworth and Evan's got $15M each for civil war I think.

Okay, time to ask one of my other timeline questions I wanted to ask:
Doesn't the time stone control time differently from the quantum realm, where you can literally reverse time in and of itself within your own timeline? So much so, that he/she who holds the time stone can place themselves to a time of their choosing, be at any point in space during the matter, and consciously be aware of said effects? We've seen this in Doctor Strange and in Infinity War.
Okay, so assuming that is true... once they get the time stone, can't they, you know, reverse time to when Thanos was a baby, and kill him? Or do literally anything else that makes it different from their time travel that they used in Endgame??
Also, it seems that although Strange was captured at a critical point of Infinity War, he only once made mention about how he "might have to use it" before taking on Ebony Maw, but never once really does use it (except to look ahead at multiple simulated outcomes). I suppose he found the rest to be inevitable, but he really didn't do himself many favors at any point.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Avengers: End Game
This is where any time travel stories get weird imo.... so not always a fan. I think Hulkabanner was explaining that going back and killing the evil baby wouldn't change anything because going back to the past is still part of your future, etc. etc. then it doesn't affect your timeline. This is where it's all funky and ultimately why I think time travel is just scifi crap.Comment

Re: Avengers: End Game
It’s impossible to do a good “serious” time travel movie. Just way to many loopholes, and in this age of social media it’s even worse.
Loopers probably is the best I have seen.

Re: Avengers: End Game
Yeah, there's not that many time travel movies where the time travel part isn't a massive distraction. Looper was a great movie and fantastic story. Easily one of the better sci-fi movies of recent memory.

The time stone doesn't work this way, though. You go back in your own timeline and remain on that timeline. This was true in DS and IW, as I said earlier. So the time stone's time travel works differently (more in line with other films) than the quantum realm (their own version of it).
Anyway, yeah I liked Looper, but I can't remember much about its time travel logic. I've heard 12 Monkeys has relatively sound time travel logic, but I haven't seen that movie.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
