This thread was great lol.

I like a lot of different genres of music. I think the most ignorant people are the ones who don't like a certain genre and because of that reason they claim whatever they don't like isn't music. I know some here are probably like that.

I don't really have anything else most would disagree with besides when I tell my friends Lil' Wayne and all of YM suck for the most part now.

I know something that my friend said that most would disagree with though: Nickelback is great...

New York Rap has sucked/been garbage since about the mid 00s.

I don't disagree with this, but at the same time I've always been a West Coast guy. I just love that sound so much more.

Rap sucks, and is not a great musical culture to express your feelings about...

I wholeheartedly agree.

I have a sort of soft spot for the early 90s "G-Funk" stuff, but other than that I absolutely despise 99% or more of all rap music ever made.

And I know this might not be a proper response, but still, it annoys the hell out of me when something that I care about gets relentlessly beat up on by people that just don't understand the culture and have no problem being completely ignorant about it.

I don't care if people don't like it. That's totally fine. The thing is, I don't like country but you don't see me going around saying (and this isn't directed at you 55) "Country is garbage. It sucks. I don't understand how someone could listen to it."

And like I said, it's fine if someone doesn't like it, but I hate when people go around making false statements like "99% of rap is about slappin' bitches" or whatever was said in here before.

The man in my avatar is a decent example of being the opposite of that.

Alice in Chains is the best band to come out of Seattle.

Metal bands contain better artists than anything mainstream.

90% of rap and hip hop sucks.

Rap was better in the early 90's than it is today.

Agreed, Rap is not all "Yo I **** bitches and kill ******" Some Rap can actually be considered a form of poetry.

There is very little rap that is like that at all but if the only exposure I got to it was the **** on the radio and tv, then I would hate it too.

-The Beatles suck
-AC/DC > all other rock bands
-2004 was the best music year in my lifetime (since 1990), although '98, '99, and '00 have good cases.

I don't dislike any one genre of music. I'll listen to most of them, I Just don't like certain artists.
