at least for the initial launch systems, EB/Gamestops have more demand through preorders, etc.

Wal-Mart only took preorders online and only for a short time, faulty logic there.

ok so i just got a call from gamestop.....

He was calling to inform me that i WOULD NOT be getting a system on launch.


I responded, "WHAT THE HELL"

then I told him I was told yesterday that i would get one of the sixteen units they were getting.

He then said, "Oh im sorry, your are the cut off guy on the list. You are the first person i have had to call, and i should have started one name lower than you, but yes you ARE getting one.... the next guy on the list though isnt so lucky."

i know the manager there, and he told me i was one of the 16 guys getting a launch system.

However, my mom's name is now #7 over at TRU by the Galleria

No, they are giving out tickets around 8AM to the first people in line, then at 10, you bring the ticket up, system is yours.

That's how they are doing it here, and that's how they did the PS2 launch as well.

Talked to the manager at the EB around the corner from me and he said all the retailers really got screwed because of the Every 10 minutes promotion. Some people even won more than one. Stupid, stupid MS.

Wow are you serious? People won more than one? What are the odds on that? Seems kinda suspect to me. I preordered online from gamestop.com, I hope I still get mine on time. Hope I find out sooner than later what's gonna happen either way.

My local Gamestop manager has already said he's had 3-4 people trying to bribe him to sell them one without a presell. I see a huge opertunity to make alot of money. He said this will be much worse than the ps2 launch.
