but my point remains. It is to Sony's advantage that Blu-Ray takes off. For that to do so, it has to get a larger user base than HD-DVD. If the Cell can run Blu-Ray, and is cheaper to produce than a Blu-Ray standalone player, why not make the cell PART of Blu-Ray. thats what im saying.

Maybe Panisonic, Samsung etc... don't want Cell tech in their machines?
But I do get your point, it would definitely be a benefit to SONY.Comment

Originally posted by ps2kingI get you, who knows man? By putting the Cell in standalone players it would also mean more money from Cell royalties.

if Sony has a cheaper way of producing the Blu-Ray technology, and they withhold it from the Blu-Ray group, I think thats a slap in the face to the whole group.Comment

Its still a business, and if these other companies want the Cell tech in their players I'm pretty sure they're gonna have to pay up for it.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games & more discussion...
Okay, it actually is for the PS3.
Kuju Entertainment demo for the PS3.
Quick run through...
- Kuju Entertainment is demoing software it's developing for PS3.
- They have done lots of software including things like Call of Duty
- Prove Japan aren't the only ones who know what they're doing
- Demo titled Redwood Falls
- FPS
- Shocked at realism of person.
- Subsurface Scattering
- The more you shoot the more you peel off the layers of the body and where you shoot changes the damage. Shoot in the same spot deeper and deeper you peel.
- Seems to "perfectly" mirror human insides.
- Genhead and Gencroud middleware.
- CEO Says 50% rise in production costs.
- Insufficient expertise will necesitate middleware.
- Genhead takes 2d picture of person and makes 3d head.
- Gencroud alters and modifies the faces (like facial expressions), more so even gender or races can be transformed.
- They're hoping to further gaming like TV, and push for game streaming over the net for instant gaming and having the gamer control the story

Originally posted by thegreatone0381You know how everyone is saying that Blu-Ray has all that extra space on the disk that won't be used on PS3 games? What if they made a 24 (tv show) video game? They could pack on season one or two along with the game and market it to two different market segments, those who game and those who just watch tv/movies. Depending on how much it costs to produce Blu-Ray Discs, this could be a pretty effective way to differentiate itself from HD-DVD.Comment

Originally posted by cjonesfan921I could wrong but I think what he said is that they could put 24 The Game and Season 1 and 2 on the blu ray.
I think that would be a cool idea. Say when King Kong comes out on Blu Ray, stick the game on there as well. Be a cool tie in for any movie with a movie game.
But I don't think he realizes 24 is coming out on the PS2, just luck that he picked that show..LOLComment
