Yeah that's all I'm saying. Not bashing the PS3 at all. I'll eventually own one at the right price.
It's always the same thing: Bash one company/ "your" company does the same / change your stance and explain why all is ok all of a sudden.
I never expected either system to be BC. Just glad that some games are and the list will continue to grow.Joshua:

Agreed. I wanted a PS3 as well, but not for another overpriced Sony product.
From all accounts I've gotten from people who either have it or have played it either doesn't see the difference in what the xbox360 has, or thinks some of the hardware/games suck.
People can spin doctor for whatever company they want. Hypocrisy by Sony is too far out to defend.Comment

I just got back from Best Buy and they had the big huge PS3 kiosk set up, played nba 07 for about 10 minutes, which was about all i could stomach.PS4: aBayBates

Just saw the kiosk at Best Buy. While I will buy one early next year, the one thing that kept passing through my mind was ****! That is one huge a** console!
Seriously, I have to totally re-evaluate my TV stand layout when I buy one of those! I don't like stacking components, but with my new receiver, DVD, DVR, 360 my space is pretty packed! Hopefully my new Omnimount center speaker shelf works or I'm REALLY going to piss off my wife when I ask for a new entertainment center/stand.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

Since I work i na store right next to WalMart, there were about 7 guys camped out right outside WalMart. They had their laptops and radios, and a big cooler. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow, good luck to them.Comment

some issues to be aweare of if your HDTV does not scale 720p images to 1080i.
Evidently PS3 does not have a scaler in it (at least not like the one in the 360) so if a game renders at a native resolution of 720 and your TV can not upscale... it will default to 480p.
Resistence is one game that has been confirmed to do this as well as Gundam.

And so far, every game they've tried has failed to upscale. Maybe none of the developers know how to program for it?

if your tv upscales 720p to 1080i (has its own scaler) then nothing other than the quality of many scalers in tvs can be suspect. if it doesn't scale 720 to 1080i then you get 480p for those games that render at 720p.
for example I have the 360 do the scaling for me to 1080i because my tv scaler sucks.
oh and the other reason I prefer to let the console do the upscaling is reduction of lag between rendering and the TV scaling it.Last edited by Klocker; 11-15-2006, 09:43 PM.Comment
