Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
It's really not that bad. I have Boxers Road which is a Japanese game I got years ago for the PS1. My cuz and I went through all the menus etc and figured out what they were etc. After that it was fine. Boxers Road was very cool. You had to set breakfast , dinner etc each day as well and training schedule and had to actually make weight for the next fight. You could watch "film" of your opponents last fight etc. Pretty deep for it's time.Originally posted by FootballForever

Plus the MLB series of Sony maybe worth getting the PS3. At this point I don't see Mircosoft bringing back the High Heat Series anytime soon, although that could change.Originally posted by Skyboxeryeah I see what you're saying. I guess for me is the question: Are there enough exclusives that the PS3 will have that I would want? If so I would get one after a while. It will be hard supplying 2 systems with 60.00 games
HOWEVER IF the PS3 is a region free console AND all the Japanese games will play on it then that alone might just warrant a purchase. My School's National Championships:

You've never played a Japanese game before?Originally posted by FootballForeverSo how fun will it be playing game in Japanese, how will you be able to understand whats going on in a game?
It's pretty easy. I mean it's common sense. Just a bit of trial and error til you get the menus down. That's what I did when I played japanese games on my computer.
Also, if the game doesn't already come with an English translation then someone will put out a translation for download.

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
It doesn't have to just be japanese. Europe will see a few PS3 titles before the hit America(most prolific being winning eleven), and those are playable in English. And you don't have to know japanese for things like music games which are big in Japan.Originally posted by FootballForeverSo how fun will it be playing game in Japanese, how will you be able to understand whats going on in a game?Comment

warhawk was clearly gameplay footage, don't listen to people who didn't watch the movies.Originally posted by burnwoodHe prolly meant gameplay footage as cutscenes can be "in-game" but not necessarily gameplay footage.
I thought the game looked more like panzer dragoon then Warhawk with the third person viewpoint.Comment

Just some info. The 360 is also region free with games. But the developer can put a kabosh on the game being played in another country. So just because Sony is saying the PS3 is region free, which I'm sure it will be, I'm also just as sure you'll see developers put the stop on some Japanese or Euro only games. I could be wrong, and they could have every game open region, but who knows. Just throwing that out there.Comment

I wish Wrestle Kingdom was region free for the 360. These developers should just be making their games region free. I understand the negatives and positives, but if a game has no chance of making it here in the US, they would make more sales in JP if US customers purchased some of those games.Originally posted by ExtremeGamerJust some info. I didn't think it was gameplay footage. But if you want to believe it was "clearly gameplay footage" then go ahead. I thought it was "in-game" as the label said on the caption.Originally posted by Ervwarhawk was clearly gameplay footage, don't listen to people who didn't watch the movies.

Great news Flaw, so what's that in US dollars? I just found a conversion tool on the net. The price of 500 euros comes out to 612.899 USD. That's what I think it will sell for here around 600 bones.Originally posted by FlawlessLast edited by Rodster; 04-05-2006, 06:49 AM.Comment

Euros are a crazy currency; given that estimated price I would say the PS3 will cost $499-$599 USD...Theres no guarantee Sony will price the US the same as Europe, so it could still be as low as $499.Originally posted by ThaGenecysti really hope it's not 612 US... Keep in mind this is the same guy who said PSP would cost 400euro, so this is hardly confirmation.
Either way $499-$599 USD is just about right for me; considering whats in the box. I think its a great value, unless it starts at $699, then I'd had to question that move...Comment
