A remake of FFVII will sell PS3's and you know it's true. We were promised remakes of FFVII, VIII, and IX for the PS2 but they never did recreate them.

It won't, but the game will sell. No one is going to buy a PS3 just to play FFVII. Sorry, but it didn't work for the Cube to play an updated Resident Evil either.

FFVII will sell, but people will buy the PS3 for FFXIII, not VII.

Why don't they just make a new one? I don't get why people would pay for a game that they've played already just because of the updated graphics.

i went to hell and back with FFVII on the original PSX... i don't think i can do it again with updated graphics... would be nice for those who didn't get into the final fantasy series until FFX and FFX-2 tho.

I didn't know it was just updated graphics.

I was thinking they'd add another story or something. That's what they did when they made that FF7 movie

well if it's more than just upgraded graphics.. and they add new cinema's and some new stories, missions, or characters and what not, then i'm all for it.

Hideo Kojima has been telling us that he wants to finally finish the Metal Gear series for ages now, but it's never actually happened. We have Metal Gear Solid 3 and we're getting Metal Gear Solid 4. So why should we believe him this time? Well... remember what happened at the end of the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer at E3? Here's what Kojima had to say to 1UP:

"Well, I say this every time but this is going to be my last Metal Gear... so you could say that the hidden theme here is that I want Snake to die so that I can move on"

Whether or not he kills his character will be interesting to see. Although that would give him a way of not going back, there's always prequels like the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.

the way that I understood it was that it will be FFVII remade with new stories, missions, new cinemas, new levels, and possibly new characters.

Because its going to be the original FF VII just with a few extra missions and new cinemas. And it may include a few new characters.

Moreso because it'll have a few of the main characters from FFVII and it'll be on the same world just a different story.

There are countless versions of classic fables like Cinderella, and yet each one is still called Cinderella.

If they do a re-make right I'd be all for it. By the time it would be released it probably would be 2007, a decade after VII's original release date. It's a great game and I wouldn't mind revisiting it if not just to use the materia system once again. And if they got rid of the random battles that would be a huge plus. Of course, to play it I would need a PS3 and no Final Fantasy VII re-make is going to bring the price of the system down. I don't think the game will sell a lot of consoles but, if Square is committed to the PS3 with the Final Fantasy franchise and more then that will help sell PS3's.

Misfit the point was they are using #'s after a game. He explained the game as though it were completely different. Call it Final Fantasy, that's great, but "Final Fantasy VII" is not the base name of the series.

Every game in the Final Fantasy series could be named something different than Final Fantasy since they are all seperate of one another (with the exception of X-2). Final Fantasy VII is completely different from Final Fantasy VI or Final Fantasy VIII so re-taining the title makes perfect sense. If it were completely different from the original Final Fantasy VII then it would just be Final Fantasy XIII, but it's not, just another interpretation of the Final Fantasy VII story.

Something just popped in my head.

Most likely we'll be using the memory sticks as memory cards right? And core version doesn't have a memory card reader. But it has USB ports right.

So we can buy a memory card reader for like 8 bucks and we're good to go? I just thought of that. If that works that gives me another reason to consider this version of the console. I already have a 1gig memory stick. I can do w/o WIFI if it'll save me $100. Don't need a HDMI port or whatever either. I don't even know if my HDTV has one of those (I don't think so. I just use component cables).

*scratches his head* ... But I kinda still want the 60GB HDD. Some people with 360 say downloads can take a chunk of space out of the 20GB HDD. I'm looking to put alot of music, a few episodes or somethin, and stuff on their.

Hmm, but I think about it again, I can get 40GB more and WIFI for $100 more. Plus a wireless controller. Blah, just get me a damn PS3.
