As to Oblivion being the RPG all others are compared to, I think that will be the case for the 360. PC Games move at such an alarming rate it won't take long for someone to copy the formula and make it better.

I thought that would be the case when Morrowind was out. 4 years and nobody has even come close. I still shudder at the thought of Peter Moneleux(sp?) calling Fable the Morrowind killer.

I read about Dark Messiah in the CGM as well. It looks great and could possibly be something on par with Oblivion. Ubisoft is a good developer so I have nothing but high expectations of this game.

That quest was more annoying than fun.

If I remember right in the West tower there is a trap door. Down the trap door there should be a painting. Just activate it and you should get a journal entry.

        If you found the evidence in Chanel's room, that means you already found the painting in the west tower. Only things you need to do with that quest is;

        1. Question everyone on the list
        2. Find painting in the west tower...its down in a trap door in the west tower
        3. find Chanel's painting supplies
        4. Find the paint footsteps on the carpet
        5. Accuse that bitch. She might not open up and tell you immediately. You must bribe or persuade her till she tells you.

I think I'm going to cave in and buy this game today. I keep on reading this damn thread and I just can't believe all that you can do. I love the Medieval era a lot.

Is this game the best open ended game that everyone has played yet that allows so much freedom?

Dang it Graphik... I had forgotten ALL about Fable, or as I like to call it "The game that should not be mentioned."

Problem with Fable (which is also is the problem with most Open games and MMO games) is people make these grand ideas up about what would be great and what they want in the game. Then as development time goes along they find out it's not practical or unable to be implimented correctly and they have to cut it. I remember Fable was supposed to be this grand open world where things went on without you. Caravans were run, merchants competed with each other, and a host of other things. Molynuex (sp?) had to cut all that cause he was limited in terms of what they could do. So were were cursed with "The game that should not be mentioned" =P

To keep this on topic, I must say I love the Radiant A.I. I was in Lleyawin (I think thats where I was) and a Countess Caro from another city came to visit the Countess there. Blew my mind that they actually travel and go about their own agenda.

I think I have spent almost 37 hours playing already. If my fiance didn't enjoy watching me play (Which is ODD 'cause she HATES most games I play other than DDR and Guitar Hero) I think she might put a hit out on my 360 'cause of this game!!! =P

I forgot all about that. Once you find all three things of evidence you hve to get her disposition up to about 70 for her to actually cop to the crime.

              **Spoiler**

If you don't mind taking a cut on your reward if you tell the Countess that you accuse no one Chanel will paint you a picture in three weeks that you can put in your house. It's a pretty cool picture.

Forget game of the year for me, game of my life. It's just amazing, best experience I've ever had. A week straight, every waking hour...and I mean EVERY waking hour, it's kind of freakish actually. The differences between my hybrid fighter and a straight thief are staggering. After logging 30-something hours with a fighter class, going Sam Fisher on the Goblins is a definite gear change.

I stopped the main quest after taking Martin the the Hideout. I've been so sidetracked with all the other quests (Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are just AMAZING).

The differences in the types of characters that are made are, like you said, staggering. I have my stealthy Theif who I play mainly, my Battle Mage, and my Paladin. They all require a completely different style of play.

Thanks. I did everything except #2 and #5. Weird. I've been in that area of the West tower and somehow missed the painting.

totally...I'm gonna make a battle mage soon, gotta figure out the best abilities for that at some point.

and Fable has nothing on this game, that was such a short game, it didn't keep you interested that long. I've been playing Oblivion for 50 hours and haven't completed the main quest, or even really gotten that far in it, and yet i'm still addicted.

Crap, the name of the guild escapes me. Black something Mercenaries I think. I haven't done too much of the Fighters Guilds quests yet, I've been to busy with the Dark Brotherhood.

The papers are a great addition. There are even back issues to it. They give hints to quests you can do or ask about, I forget which.
