How is it greedy? They are not forcing anyone to pay anymore then they want. Everyone had the same chance to preorder and get a PS3.

Why is it greed. The sellers put forth the effort to acquire the device. Supply and demand dictate the prices. They aren't breaking any laws.

Since most, if not all, of these sellers are not going to report their PS3 sales as taxable events, technically they may be breaking the law.

Yea thats a bad example,lol. I compare it to when I buy air jordans. I buy them because I like the sneakers and I wear them and also collect them, but people make it hard when they take advantage of the situation and buy them just to hike up the price rediculously, again cant knock the hustle, but its just greed.

Sony doesn't care what happens after people buy the PS3 from retailers, as long as they bought it. What was it, 400,000 that were out? Well all those are sold out. And most likely when the next shipment and so on come out, they will be sold out in a day or so too.

Man people are flipping this thing like crack,lol. Its Sony's fault for making so little consoles, but people taking advantage of the situation is just greed. Cant knock the hustle, but the sh1t is greedy.

So you're telling me if you had indeed gotten a console, and on your way out of the store, someone walked up to you and offered you $1500 for it, you'd say "Nah, that'd be greedy, I'll give it to you for $800"?

Hell, i'd say I wouldn't give this up for no less then $2000. Then if the guy says no, I go down a tiny bit 'till we find a happy medium. I can't believe people think this is greed. That's laughable.

Welcome to living in a free market. Do I like when this sort of thing happens? Not really, I've seen collectors and auctioneers take the fun out of a few of my hobbys. But just because I don't like it, doesn't make it wrong, or immoral.

I agree. It's a waste of time for the seller. Now they have to file this to eBay which will take 2 weeks or so for them to get their money back. Money from listing it and money from the final selling price. eBay will probably give them a strike but people like these should be banned from eBay.

I bet 90% or better of the people selling these PS3 for much more than they are worth , that also own a 360, complain about the micro transactions on XBOX Live by saying "they should give it us for free" or "It should be in the game" or "I'm not paying 8 bux it's only worth maybe 5 bux"

Either way, if people are willing to pay 2000.00 or more for the PS3 then why not sell it.

Now on the other hand my "father" instinct take over and I get po'ed when I think of the families trying to get one for their kids and can't get one right now due to the high $.

If I did want 1 of these things @ launch and I originally pre-ordered and somebody offered me 1500, hell yea Id take it I aint rich,lol, but I wouldnt seek out a ps3 JUST for re-sale. Just because you can take advantage of people doesnt mean you have to.
If someone approached me with the offer I wouldnt turn it down, but I wouldnt go home rubbing my mits together staring @ my computer screen hoping some people wanting this thing would pay me a rediculous amount of money for it. You cant tell me people who froze their a$$ off, slept outside and delt with fights,lol, just to make a extra couple hundred bucks isnt greed?

Funny, I had this same exact scenario happen on my way out of Best Buy for the 360 launch. Car of adults asked if I would sell them my unit for $1400 cash.

Flipped them off and enjoyed my system many months in advance of others. And I still stand by my decision. I wanted it because I enjoy video games, not because I enjoy pretty much taking advantage of low production on a 'hot' item.

If you can't see how people doing this is greedy, then it's really not worth trying to elaborate on it.

Different scenario. You really wanted the device. If you did decide to sell it, I somehow doubt you'd take less than was offered, just because it was greedy.

I love when people make an honest buck, and other people call them greedy, as if making some money on the side is a bad thing.
