Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
"Freebird" is not that bad on Medium, but I would hate to see it on Hard or Expert.
GH3 would nice if it was setup with 5 difficulty settings, this way Hard can ease you into the 5th Fret button and the speed could be a tad bit slower than what it is now.

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
I tried expert last night, with all 5 fret buttons..F that..lol
I'm having fun just on easy now. I only played a total of about 45 minutes last night, but I only got three stars on each song.
I'm loving it though. I can't wait to get off of work and play.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
That's all that matters, as I told TJ the other night, if he's having fun on easy, play it on easy. I think he moved up to medium since, and you'll get there. Play it, have fun with it, and move up at your own pace. The game will make you hate it if you try to jump up to the harder levels to quickly.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
A piece of advice my cousin used to do hard. And I don't know if this works for the 360, never did it. But there's a speed code I guess, and it speeds up the notes for any level. He played medium using the speed code which puts them at hard/expert speed. It allowed him to get used to the speed of the notes then he moved on to the orange button. Might be something to look into trying.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
face off is you against another and each plays a set of notes. later you unlock pro face off where you play the same notes. in co op, depending on the song, you have the lead, the second person plays rhythm or bassComment

I played through on easy the first time, then played through easy again until I 5 starred everything. As a result (I guess) I was able to run through Medium and pass every song first time, except for one song in Stonehenge (Carry Me Home...I really suck at that song, not sure if the game just passed me out of pity or what).
I played one song on hard afterwards (Shout at the Devil, which I thought would be one of the easier ones), and failed miserably very quickly. This experiment confirmed my thought that I need to stay on Medium until I can 5 star all of those. I don't think this is going to happen anytime soon, but that's ok with me, since I have an absolute blast (and I am definitely challenged) on Medium.
Although I doubt she will (since she stopped trying after about 20 secs the other night), I hope my wife shows a little bit of interest. I think it would be really fun to play this in multiplayer, as others have said.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
That is a statement I need to remember. That was the gamekiller for me. Although I didn't own GH for the PS2,I played it on easy and got a little too cocky. Went to medium, and got my butt handed to me on a paper plate. Then got discouraged because I really thought the buttons couldn't keep up with my fast fingers(I'd hit the buttons too quick). Being an actual guitar player,I do have a little probably with the coordination concept of the game "guitar" controller that comes with the package. I went back to playing the real thing and it really seemed more simple. Plus, with the real guitar-you can add your own flair and personality. Let's also not forget those outrageous"tribute to Hendrix/VanHalen" guitar solos!......... Now,just for something to do,I've been reading the thread here and see the love OS'ers have for this game. I don't think I'll get the 360 version-too much bucks to take a chance ,what I need to know-does anyone here still play the first one? I read somewhere people are still rockin' out with that. Any comments on that or the game in general, would be appreciated, thanks.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment
