Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
Honestly, I'd advise using your ring finger for blue, middle for yellow, and index for red as far as hand placement and then use your index finger to go between red and green since it's the easiest finger to move for almost everybody. If you use your pinky for blue, as soon as you bump to hard or expert you have to relearn all the buttons...it's much more difficult. Instead of your pinky for blue, all of a sudden your pinky is supposed to be for orange and your ring finger for blue when you've played it the other way the entire time. So now you've not only got all 5 fret buttons, but the muscle memory you've developed on how to hit the various colored notes won't mean squat since you have to learn everything all over again. Just my opinion, of course.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
LOL I was hoping you would do it naked and paint different color "frets" on your member and strum it.
Back on topic though. I really want see someone play on expert. I don't think I'll ever be that good.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
There is something so very, very wrong with you...
And everybody thinks that they'll never be able to move up to hard/expert when they start. That's the glory of it. On my first day with the game, I sat down and blasted through medium in a single sitting. I tried hard right after and got destroyed. I went back and got all 5-stars on medium, and then the next time I went through I beat hard without failing hardly at all. It's a gradual thing. You'll get there, even though it feels like you never will at the current time.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
I guess I need to 5 star all the Easy ones, since Medium is kickin' my ***. I don't even think I have one 5 star on Easy yet, lol. I just wanted to go through it and start medium. Not a good idea haha.
I also wanted to do a Guns N Roses song, but it wasn't on Easy? I thought Sweet Child O Mine was on the list of songs? Is it only on more difficult settings?Comment

And it's going to kick your *** on medium
Once it's unlocked though, you can go back and play it on easy with quickplay.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
Sweet Child O' Mine was still an encore on the PS2 version. It's in pretty much the same place, I thought. The weird things to me are like the previous "starter songs", like Shout at the Devil, being an Encore in the 360 version. I understand why they did it, since once you bump it to Expert jumping from chord to chord on Shout will give somebody fits. It's not the "easiest" song on the set list, by far.
I like the progression in the 360 version better overall, though.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
I can see your point, but answer me this: will it be easier for you to shoot back and forth between two buttons with your index finger, or try to do the same with your pinky? For the vast majority of people I know, it's usually the index finger. Pinky fingers just don't have the strength or dexterity that index fingers do.Comment

Re: 360 Guitar Hero Impressions
I use index for green, middle for red, ring for yellow, but I can't use my pinky. My hands just don't work like that. Wherever my pinky goes, my ring finger goes, so I need to move my ring finger for blue and orange.
When there are long streaks of notes I slide my fingers without any problems. I do this on expert and I can beat just about every song.Comment
