Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
I'm only through Chapter 4 so far..but here is my major gripe of this game. The captain of the repair crew - I wanna kill him. I'm the one killing aliens at every turn yet this idiot has no problem sending me on mission after mission to save "all of us".....Puuulease - why don't he get his behind down to the engine room crawling with space mutants rather than send me for a change?!! If I can - the next scene we are together I'm gonna dismember him!

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
OK guys, now I just unwrapped the game and just played for an hour straight, I'm going to say this is one of my favorite games, this game is just so different and so good, it's borderline a 10 in my book, I hope it's pretty long because I;m having a blast right now. The story is great and man does this game look so damn beautiful. One of the better games graphics wise in a long time, I also didn't play bio shock.
I didn't even finish the game and it gets a 9.8 in my opinion.N.Y Mets

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
I just finished the Game, the story through out is very good. Towards the end it gets a bit convoluted with the Plot twists, but it still is very good.
I personally wish they would have dug deeper to see how it all played out from the beginning. My advice to you is to download the 6 comics with Audio on Xbox Live, also download the Elite suit while its still free...My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
Played it last night finally. Damn, the environment is very impressive, screams and sounds all over the place. Lights off, 5.1 sound blaring, this game is probably the most intense game I've played. I had Condemned for the longest time as my #1 horror game on a console, but this may overtake it if it stays this good.Comment

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
It's ok.
To this point it feels like any other sci-fi gone wrong story.
Ship in space, ship loses contact, rescue/repair crew goes out, finds ship in ruins, aliens attack rescue/repair crew, rescue/repair crew must survive.
They try to fancy it up a little with things here and there, but when it comes down to it, it's just a generic sci-fi type movie.
It's still fun, though. It's more the environment, to me, that makes the game. The combat is quite a bit of fun, but after a while the novelty of the whole limbs thing kind of wears off. It's levels like the command center where you can look down on to the planet through the 2-3 story high glass, and see stars, debris, asteroids, and what have you just floating around that really makes the game. Kind of like Bioshock, it just looks really great.
I would love to see what the ship looked like when it was in full operation; I bet it would look pretty damn awesome.
The holograms, and the way the menus are holographic so you don't pause when you go through logs and inv also draw you into the game quite well. There's nothing on the screen but you and your surroundings - you have to look at your player for info on health and ammo - since there are small meters on his suit, and holographic display on the weapon.
I'd say if you're buying it for the story, it's probably not going to do much for you (like Bioshock), but the combat and environment should (although, like Bioshock, the combat novelty does start to wear off to the point where it starts to feel like any other shooter, just aiming for limbs instead).
edit: I should mention - I'm on chapter 9, now.Last edited by MC Fatigue; 10-23-2008, 07:49 AM.Comment

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
I still have not finished the first one. I thought the hand to hand was only "so so", I ended up getting bored with the combat. I need to work on finishing it.Comment
