Yeah, that should be a good way to go about it. It won't take very long for you to be able to just walk around and know where everything is without even consulting the map. The best thing is to not use the Rapid Transit System, in my opinion, so that you know how to get to each place and where everything is first.

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Yeah, amazing game. I forgot to post when I beat it, but I'm working back through it with my original female Paragon Sentinel to see how the dialog changes and what it's like to be a top-level biotic (I was an Infiltrator with my orther character). I'm also working my way back through as my completed character and trying to unlock everything that I can, trying to find rare weapons, etc.
Best game I've played in a long time. Bioshock was amazing too, but if a GOTY vote was held today, Mass Effect would definitely be my choice.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

I know that feeling. When I tried to play a second time through I was going to go the Renegade route, but I just can't. I'm a big ol teddy bear.NCAA Vets League: Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2, 6-1)

Heh, yeah, the only people I really enjoyed being an ******* to were the Council members... those dirty bastards...
Heh, disconnecting in the middle of their conversations was always fun, especially when they call back later... I was always nice to the ladies though, since I was trying for that romance achievement.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
SpoilerWhen Joker buzzed me in saying the colonist were banging on the ship, my reply was something like kill them if you have to, protect the ship at all costs.
Jokers was like aaaah, I'm going to shoot some warning shots. Probably thought I was crazy. No crazy bastards are going to be banging against my ship though. Voice acting in this game is so great.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Whenever you are going to leave the Normandy it will take you to a screen where you get to choose the two characters you want to take with you.
EDIT: Oh wait, were you just asking an opinion on how we decided who to take?
Well, me personally, since my character was a Biotic (for the most part), I always took Ashley with me since she was a straight up soldier. I also began taking Tali with me for her electronics skill. So it was always me and two chicks kicking @$$.
I liked to have a balance between the three specialties.Last edited by tanis38; 01-03-2008, 09:10 AM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
yeah, every time I pick up a new character it takes me to that screen. I'm just confused on the strategy part of who to pick. I am at the citadel now so maybe later in the game there is more strategy on who I need to use ?Whenever you are going to leave the Normandy it will take you to a screen where you get to choose the two characters you want to take with you.

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I am a soldier so I guess I am still confused on the electronics and biotic skills of my team mates. What benefit do they give my team? And how important is it to have those skills on my squad? Will certain missions require certain skill sets? I am at the citadel now and it doesn't seem to matter who I use at the moment. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Someone with good electronic skills will be beneficial, especially early on, so that you can open all the locked and secured crates/doors that you come across, so you'll be getting alot of equipment/money early on. They can also be helpful in big battles by using their abilities such as being able to make an enemy's weapon explode, hacking synthetic enemies to have them fight on your side, disabling enemy shields, or hindering an enemy's biotic abilities.I am a soldier so I guess I am still confused on the electronics and biotic skills of my team mates. Biotic skills can be pretty helpful in battles as well, especially when powered up. I cannot talk more highly about how helpful the "lift" ability is (it does basically what is sounds like, you will lift an enemy in the air and they will be helpless for several seconds while they hover there). "Throw" is great to use if an enemy charges you and gets too close for comfort (use it after lift for hilarious results), and Warp will weaken an enemy, making all attacks to that enemy do major damage.
That is why I always liked to have a balanced squad with me, because they all have their positives. If you are a soldier yourself, I'd say use teammates that have some biotic and tech abilities to compliment you.
Hint: When selecting your team, you can see three colored meters in the bottom of your screem that fill up depending on who you choose letting you know how strong your team is in all three specialties.Last edited by tanis38; 01-03-2008, 09:42 AM.Comment
