Re: Mass Effect Discussion
This game has officially eaten any spare time up I have had since I got it for Christmas, not counting time I spend with my son. It has completely sucked me in.
I have had a few frustrating experiences though, mainly the whole rescue mission (I think the name is L'Soni or something, don't remember). I tried the fight involving the ghosts probably 20 times, and then the fight against the Krogan Battlemaster probably 20 more. Took some time for me to get an effective strategy against them, mainly because unless I told one of my squadmates to use a power, they seemed to stand around like bumbling idiots. I tried using the different commands on the d-pad as well, and they just stood around.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
The Krogan part is hard as hell the first time. When I went through the game again I killed him in like 10 seconds but the first time I kept dying so much that I had to stop playing for a couple hours then try again.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Kearnzo you can set your AI powers to active so that they'll use the powers on their own. Then they won't be quite as useless.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
That could be the problem. Might have saved me some steam coming off my head
Definitely agreed jmood. I just couldn't figure out how to kill the Krogan for the first ten tries. When I finally beat him, as soon as the battle started, I used the throw power on one of the drones, and had Wrex and Garrus use their powers on a couple of the others, completely ignoring the Krogan. Then, once I killed all the drones aside from the one in the doorway behind cover, I took him out, which drew out the Krogan. When he got close, I used my lift power, and ordered Wrex and Garrus to unload on him in the air. Was pretty easy doing it this way, but man, was I frustrated as hell the first 10 or so times.
Aside from the couple frustrations however, I have never, ever been so immersed before. I just completed the Feros mission taking out the geth along with all of the other side missions on Feros, and it was a blast. Plus, I leveled up two or three times on Feros
So am I understanding correctly that after you reach level 20, you get a mission on the moon in which after completion, you can choose new abilities, such as Commando?Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
They aren't abilities, they're specialization classes. eg. if you're an adept, you choose between nemesis (which lengthens the duration of your attacks, and increases the strength or radius of warp and some other move) or bastien(which reduces recharge time on your powers, and strengthens barrier and another move)Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
What a ridiculously awesome game. The journey up to the end was simply amazing, especially with the hard choices you have to make in Vermire. I finished the game at level 50 and clocked in 40 hours in my first playthrough.
Now I plan to get that level 60 achievement, then play once again but as a renegade.
I can't wait 'till the next Mass Effect!Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Wow, I seriously had trouble making the decision at Vermire last night. If a game can make a hard choice out of saving only one of two characters, in a videogame mind you, than it is something special.
So which mission is the one where you get the specialization class? I thought I had read that after you reach level 20, the mission is playable, and maybe I missed it on the galaxy map, but I can't find it. Any help? Thanks.
Also, another quick question. Does anyone know of a good map that shows which stores are where at the Citadel? I can see certain areas on the in game map obviously, but for instance, I accidentally bought medium armor for my Shepard at one of the Citadel stores, only to realize it was I believe a Turian armor, thus I couldn't use it. Now, I want to sell it, but for the life of me can not find the store to sell things. Thanks.Last edited by Kearnzo; 12-30-2007, 12:25 PM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
You can sell things at any merchant, just have to scroll to sell items at the bottom of the screen."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I'll put spoiler tags, just in case...
SpoilerGo to the Galaxy Map, look for "Local Cluster", and land on the moon "Luna" which just so happens to be Earth's moon. Finish the mission there and you'll get to choose what specialization you like. The mission involves a lot of Geth but since you're done with Vermire, I'm guessing you're well-equipped to handle the situation.

biotic and tech abilities work on him, so, using your powers and your part's powers should make the fight pretty easyComment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Man, i'm loving being a Renegade on my first playthrough. I've gotten my intimidate points at max right now, and just went back to Conrad Verner. He asked if I could recommend him as a Spectre, and I put my gun in his face and told him he couldn't handle it. He ran away crying
This game is AMAZING.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Thanks. The team I have right now might not be best suited for that. I will have to tough it out, maybe today will be the day!
