Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I just beat my first playthrough yesterday. 45 hours. I made it to level 50 and completed every side quest I found. I played basically as a "good" guy, so during my next playthrough I'll explore the renegade side of things. Think I'm going to go with a straight up soldier too, since I played as a Biotic/Fighter my first time (forget the name) and all I could use were pistols and shotguns. I really want to try the assault and sniper rifles. Even though, once I was leveled up all the way and a master with the pistol, I was wrecking all kinds of havoc with it. Like Kearnzo said though, I am definitely going to miss Lift. That was my bread n' butter.
I don't see myself being able to just jump right into another playthrough though. I've noticed others have been able to start a new game immediately, but I am a little worn out on Mass Effect for the moment. Maybe it was because I tried to be as thorough as possible and it took me 45 hours to get through it, but I definitely need a break.
I look forward to a 2nd run at it in the future though. Great game. Bioshock is still my Game of the Year and CoD4 is a close second, but ME was great. Especially the last hour or so. Very intense!Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
This game is hella good. Just finished the mission at Vermire. Haven't felt that kind of emotion from a game since Final Fantasy 7. Am I almost finished the main quest? This is easily in my top 5 games of all time.

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Gotta agree that soldier is a blast. I started the 2nd playthrough last night as a female paragon (already noticing differences with paragon/renegade), and the first couple main quest missions were so much easier this time around with the assault rifle. Plus, now that I have a better understanding on how to use cover effectively, fights should be a lot easier. However, like I said, some of the battles, such as against the Krogan battlemaster when you save the Dr., will be rather difficult I feel without the lift ability. I might have to actually use Kaidan once in a while this time just for the lift ability.
I also think i'll try to make things a better challenge by not using Wrex and Garrus so much. Everything got pretty easy with those two, especially Wrex, who is unstoppable with maxed out combat armor and fitness.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I am a soldier. I am having problems finding my way around the city with the map. I have no idea where I am supposed to go or do next.

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
The Citadel can be pretty intimidating at first. Give it time though and you'll know it like the back of your hand in no time. Just walk around and enjoy the sights.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
is there anything on the map that tells me where I am supposed to go? Or do I need to find that out myself ?My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
If you look in your Journal it should tell you where you should be going to advance the main story (or any secondary objectives you have opened up). The once you have the name of the location (example: C-Sec, Wards, etc.) look in your map or ask one of the VI Assistants (those holographic terminals that are scattered about) for directions. Or you can warp there using the Rapid Transit terminals.
But yeah, definitely look in your Journal.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Just finished the game....WOW. It was probably one of the best games I have ever played. The ending is fantastic with tons of action. If there is a second one, incorporating some type of multiplayer would be awesome!

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
This is supposed to be a trilogy. Imagine the possibilities if this game gets even better. It could become epic.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
There's no need for multiplayer in this and I hope that they don't throw in multiplayer just to have it.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
multiplayer will not work for this type of game though it would be interesting to have coop play...
can you imagine playing with two players? one can play as good cop and the other bad cop or better yet have them both renegades for the ultimate intimidation....this could lead to an interesting story arc with two players at the same timeComment
