Re: Mass Effect Discussion
EGM Afterthoughts Mass Effect
EGM: Early on, you touted the ability to interrupt characters while they were talking. Why did this innovative feature get dropped?
Casey Hudson: It's still there in a sense; when you press the X button, it worked out so you could skip lines of dialogue. As things wrapped up toward the end of the project, there were some aspects of [the dialogue system] that weren't working the way we had intended. But that's definitely something that we want to be the focus with the next Mass Effect. We want to add not only the ability to interrupt characters, but also other active things to the conversations....EGM: Well, is it safe to say that the downloadable content will at least be better than KOTOR's...uh... meager offering?
CH: Yes, it will definitely be much, much bigger and better than KOTOR's. From the beginning, we were able to plan for DLC because we knew even before the 360 came out how important the Xbox Live stuff would be. So it was built into the design of Mass Effect and built to work really well. That's part of the reason why we created this big galaxy -- it's a good place for us to place downloadable content.

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Well Hardcore isn't as hard as I thought it would be. I also played the first two levels pistol/shotgun so I can get the achievements for both.
Those that are on their second or more play through, are you doing all the side quests over again as well?Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I just got the Garrus and Ashley achievements yesterday. Soldier and Sentinel are easy since you start the game with both of them. For everybody else, make sure that you dont't do ANY side quests until they are in your party. Once they are in, make sure that you do every single quest available. I think according to Gamefaqs the only tricky one to get is Liara's since she's the only party member you do not get on Citadel.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
just finished this morning. I did most of the side missions and was pretty close to maxing xp out, even though I never paid attention to it until after I finished. It's was a good game but not something I will play through again. Tough decision at the end but I ended up choosing

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I wish they just made flat worlds, or worlds with hills instead of all mountains. Whenever we finally did get flat land, there was one of those giant worm things that would attack (reminds me of the sand worms from Dune). That part of the game was kind of a drag to me if there wasn't anything unique to the world (ex. finding the little minerals). I wish the Mako could fly, that would simplify the mountain issue.Comment

Spoilerto save the council.SpoilerI chose to leave the council and let the ships concentrate on Soveirgn. It's funny how tough it is to make some decisions in the game because of the attachment you get to some of your squad members. I remember when I had to chose to save Kaiden or Ashley on Virmire I sat there thinking for a few minutes before choosing Ashley.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I think we all agree that the planet exploration stuff is pretty repetitive...I also bet that Bioshock knows and will hopefully improve that aspect for the next one, was probably too much to get out for last holiday season....I wish they just made flat worlds, or worlds with hills instead of all mountains. Every planet and every bunker on a planet is like 1 of 4 templates/map designs...kinda sucks for the immersion to go "Oh, this is just like the biotic compound, to a T"Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I had a tough time deciding between Kaiden or Ashley. I choose Kaiden though because he stepped up right away and volunteered. I knew right when I decided that, he would eventually die.
As far as choosing the help the council stay alive, after the end of the war, they decided to put the first human in the council. They asked me if I had any recommendations and I choose they guy I was working for (forgot his name, it was the black dude)My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Yeah it does get dull to going to the same facilities over and over, and facing pretty much the same challenge.
At time same time though you have to think what restrictions, if any DVD9 had. With the graphics, storylines, voice overs, I'm sure they maxed the size.Comment

Yeah, bio someone lol...Oh, I'm sure they hit walls, and next time they can make it work better...just a minor negative to a great game, especially those (not me) who thought exploring other worlds would be the coolest part, you know? You mean Bioware?
