    Re: Mass Effect Discussion

Was at Barnes and Nobles today and finally got around to picking up the first book Mass Effect Revelation and I'm glad I finally did. Read three chapters at work and it is some great stuff. Once I finish this one up, I'll hit up the 2nd book.

Both of the books were excellent. Very entertaining reads.

Getting to level 60 is hard as hell, I'm at 58 and I still have Virmire, the Prothean planet, and killing Soverign left to to do but the gap from 58 to 59 is ridiculous, getting to 60 is probably a whole other level of crazy.

Lol it's funny, I've yet to get a toon to 60. It is a grind.

Wow I've actually found a planet and a side mission that I haven't explored any of the other times that I've played through.

I didn't really dive into the book till Thursday and Friday and finished it up Friday night.

Terrific book, absolutely loved it. Really shows off how bad *** of a character Anderson is and how ruthless Saren was even before his mind got corrupted.

I'll be picking the 2nd book up tomorrow during work.

If you don't get to 60 on your initial playthrough you can just take your leveled up character into the next playthrough right?

I saw those books the other day and considered picking them up. After reading some of the feedback here I think i'll give them a shot.

Definitely man, I highly recommend the book.

Regarding your level question, hitting 60 on one play though is impossible. It took me three just to hit 55 or so, so yeah you can keep continue over with the previous level.

if you do all the side quest and random planets, and kill enemies on foot and not the vehicle(you get more XP when on foot), you can get over level 50 in 1 play through. the hardest part is going from 59 to 60. there is a huge gap in XP points needed. I think i hit 60 on my 3rd play through, but on my 1st play through, i didn't do all the missions.

In my three play throughs, the first was the only one where I did most of the side quests. The next two I didn't do as many. I wasn't a fan of driving around in this game; especially in rocky terrain.

I'd like to pick this up and give it another go, but to get to level 60, I'd just be using the same guy again. I still need to be a douche in the responses to get the other achievement too.

The game was fun, but the vast majority of the side planets were mind numbingly generic and had you doing the same stuff like finding minerals or data for XP. I couldn't see myself grinding the hell out of it 2 more times.

I just beat the Vermir planet and am around level 38-39..... I have 1.5 million credits, should I start turning everything into omni-gel now? I can't find anything good to buy. Everytime I go to buy stuff from vendors I have already found weapons and armor that is better.

End of July is when it came out. It's by the same author, just as good as the first one. Certainly worth the read.

Yep same author. Haven't finished the 2nd book yet but so far it is great. I'm happy they brought back the same author as in the first one because he is damn good.
