Yes. After you finish the game, apparently it creates some files that are separate from the save files themselves and puts it on the hard drive. ME2 reads those hidden files, I guess. People who had the auto save before the Saren fight just went through, fought him, beat the game, and everything carried over after that.

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
New to series, but picked up ME1 to get ready for ME2. Do I need to purchase any of the DLC to get the full experience in ME2? IF so, should I juts purchase them up front, or do i need to wait?Work Hard...Pay Bills...Work Hard...Pay BillsComment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
None of the DLC are required to get the full experience but I would get the Bring Down The Sky one as I thought it was pretty enjoyable.
Pinnancle you can skip on.
As far as getting them, you can get it now. Just make sure to do it before you do the final mission/level.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Well, I realized I am going to probably fall a bit short of enough EXP for level 60, so I purchased Pinnacle Station to boost a few thousand EXP to give myself a shot.
What a mistake. This has got to be the buggiest POS I've ever messed with. In under 1 hour of play. I've lost two saves (they just flat-out won't load...thank God I save often), had 3 freezes, lost a character twice during survival mode (he didn't die, he just disappeared along with his HUD info) and had a temporary freeze where my controller started vibrating so fast I turned it of for fear the motor would burn out...lol.
A real winner
At this point I just want to complete it out of sheer stubbornness...lolComment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I think I may have advanced too far in the main story and won't reach lvl 50. Can someone give me the name of the last primary mission? Right now it seems like I'm moving from primary mission to primary mission without the option of going to do some secondary ones.PSN: OldStyle24Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
in spoiler tags encase there is someone who has not played ME.
Spoilerafter you become a spectre, you have 3 main mission. Feros, Noveria, and the Liara quest. after 2 of those missions, you get info on Virmirem which would be the next. if you complete all 4 of them, you are basically forced back to the citadel. once you do what is needed there, you can't go back there normally. I believe you can still go to other worlds though.
the "point of no return" if you want to call it that is Ilos.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Don't buy it at Gamestop, they are charging $24.99 for it used. If you have a local Gamecrazy, go there........I bought this for $14.99 last week. Last year I had bought this for $14.99 last year at Gamestop and with the release of ME2 they jack up the price by $10 is money grubbing imo.
I'm about 2 hours in and just amazed at the conversations this early on, I can only imagine how the game turns out much later.Comment

It's too late for him, but to others. The wal-marts in my area still have plenty of the "Platinum Hits" version available for $19.99 and Amazon has it as well (no tax).Comment
