Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I'm going to finish my Insansity playthrough because that should put me at 60. I'm not going to do any side quests except the Geth Incursions for Tali (I'm hoping that has an effect on ME2).SpoilerI'm about to give up on the side missions, I'm on the 2nd playthrough and I'm at level 56 about to hit 57. I've finished 3 of the 4 early main mission, I have to find Liara to complete the squad before the rest of the main missions open up. I'm thinking even if I did the rest of the side missions, it wouldn't be enough to get to level 60 and I'm not going to complete a 3rd playthrough before Mass Effect 2 hits....oh well

You've seen her trailer haven't you? Seems pretty obvious and they said there's about 100 things that'll carry over.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
So I'm actually just now doing my first ever playthrough of ME. I'll probably do a second as well even after I get ME2.
My questions is though, when I do a second play through, do I use the exact same characted I'm using now, or do I create a new character, or what? Do missions structures change based on if I use a new character or an old one on multiple play throughs?Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
You can use the same character by selecting the 'Use exisisting ID' option on the creation screen. The benifit to that is all your items/money/levels carry over and the level cap is upped. So I'm actually just now doing my first ever playthrough of ME. You can use a new character as well if you want but your stuff wouldn't carry over. However the benefit there is if you've got certian achievements you could add whatever is tied to the achievement to your new character. EX: If you pick a solider for your original character and get 150 assault rifle kills you can start a new character, say as an engineer instead and you'll be to add the assault rifle specialization to them. You do only get to pick one thing though. You wouldn't be able to add the assault rifle and sniper rifle for example.
Missions don't change. The only thing is you don't get another special class from the Luna mission, only get to choose that once.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I just bought it when I got my RROD 360 back from a 2 year death.
This game is fun as hell. Controls are quirky but once you get the hang of it, it is an awesome game. Cannot wait to play the 2nd one.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I have ME2 and am anxious to dive into it, but I've been playing this again trying to get one of my lvl 50 players up as close to 60 as possible. Flew through the main story line up until the lockdown, but the side-missions are KILLING me...lol.
I wanted this play-through to be as thorough as my first (minus the mineral collecting), but I'm tempted to just say screw it and wrap up the main storyline so I can move on to ME2. I forgot how repetitive the side-missions are.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I recall somebody earlier in this thread, saying that it was a bonus for 50 and 60, I took that to mean if you didn't get to 60 you would receive the same bonus if you were level 59 as if you were 50, so you may want to check that out before you waste too much time.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
MAn I am doing the same thing. I installed ME2 and can't wait to jump in it. Last week my plan was to get from 57 to 60 in three days so I'd be ready but when I got ME2 I couldn't wait so I just popped it in. I tried to import but it didn't list any of my toons, I figured because I completed all my playthroughs on a different 360.I have ME2 and am anxious to dive into it, but I've been playing this again trying to get one of my lvl 50 players up as close to 60 as possible. So now I have no choice but to finish the playthrough as planned, I refuse to start a new game in ME2 without my imported character. 2k XP from 59 with two major storyline planets to go. Getting XP has been easier now that I get out of the Mako to kill everything myself.
It'll be good to finally finish this so I can go back to the ME2 thread. Matter of fact, let me put some time in right now.Last edited by trobinson97; 01-31-2010, 06:37 PM.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
It's because you didn't copy over all the files. It isn't the save files themselves, I think the devs said its stored in the some other files, some of which might not be viewable.Comment
