Re: Far Cry 2
I really am enjoying this game but i do have a couple gripes:
I do not like the fact that Everyone in the World shoots at you.
All of the cars go pretty much the same speed
And the MP5SD should be a secondary weapon, just so i can carry a Sniper Rifle and a solid SMG. I do not know why the MP5 is listed as a Assault Rifle, it should be a SMG...My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

buy the dart rifle as your sniper rifle. it goes in the heavy weapon slot. Buy the m79 grenade launcher for your pistol slot.Comment

Re: Far Cry 2
After stumbling through the beginning of the game trying to understand some stuff (the malaria thing, for one), I restarted the game.
This is really a great game. On one trip to the docks/river it started raining. Ubisoft did a nice job with the visuals. The game is huge, the ability to go anywhere on the map really adds to the value. You can choose to trek through the hills on foot/take a boat/gun jeep/car to get to your next destination.
Solid game.Comment

Re: Far Cry 2
man the more I play the better this game gets... I get better the weapons get better, the better the story gets, the more I see what the designers intent was and the more I find new ways to attack things
very good game.. it's getting more time form me than Fable 2 or Fallout 3 at the momentComment

Re: Far Cry 2
I'm in route to destroy some weapons caches using IEDs. I already experimented with one blowing up a truck outside of Mike's Bar. Hope he doesn't mind. I've accidentally destroyed my own gun jeep a few times with the grenade launcher, so I've had to trek to another location to find another vehicle.
The spawning of troops at check points you've passed really isn't an issue either as they aren't the same as before, might only be a couple, might be gun jeep where guys are just hanging around.
Pretty deep game. The long range snipers were giving me fits until I got my own sniper rifle and now can pick them off if I can locate them.Comment

I shot a zebra just to see if I could and I felt really bad afterwards.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Far Cry 2
I actually kind of like the MP. It's no cod4 or BF:BC but it is unique and the maps are diverse (not to mention with the map creator there are hundreds (thousands?) of maps available.
The game play is a little less hectic than those other shooters but the game play and weapons are balanced. you do have upgrade paths as you improve your XP. I prefer Player matches where the upgrades only come for that particular round of matches and then you lose them. in Ranked matches you keep your upgrades.
the graphics are great online, the maps even have varied weather and lighting. also the "buddy revive" system makes it fun to pair up or sticktogether.
The floaty shooting takes a bit to get used to as at first I hated it but eventually I started to really like it.Comment
