When looking at the playlists. They have items beside the songs IE Drums, Bass etc... (I think) Anyway, it has circles by the songs. Some are dark, some are not... what does it mean?
Also, when playing the drums and you get the bolded lines and every color is like that, what does that mean?
And, when I get up to 4X what do I do? Isn't there something to do to get more points? I remember something in Guitar Hero. What about with the drums and Mic?
-the dots are indeed a difficulty scale, which goes something like this:- five empty dots = easiest
- one black dot = easy
- two black dots = somewhat challenging
- three black dots = challenging
- four black dots = hard
- five black dots = very hard
- five devil faces = extreme
-the long empty sections are fills, as aukevin described. However, if you don't hit anything during the fill, the final green crash will not appear (this was true in Rock Band 1, I'm guessing it is also in Rock Band 2).
-there's nothing special about the score multiplier other than the fact that it multiplies the number of points you get for each successful guitar/drum note or vocal phrase by that amount. When playing bass, the multiplier can go all the way up to 5x or 6x (you'll get a message saying "bass groove" when you get up to at least 5x).Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
So, just picked it up, and so far I'm loving it! The set up is much cleaner, and the crowd singalongs are awesome!
Quick question though... Are all songs masters? I swear that "I Was Wrong" and "Today" can't be. I've been playing both of those songs on bass for years, but the bass lines for those two are a lot different than what I've seen in tablature.Through music, you can live forever...TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, San Diego Padres, Notre Dame Fighting IrishComment

Ahh... That would make sense then. It's gotta be a different version. There's a couple little parts in the bass line that I KNOW I would have recognized in the normal song. I've been listening to Social D for going on 20 years now, so I'd like to think that I know their songs by now.Through music, you can live forever...TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, San Diego Padres, Notre Dame Fighting IrishComment

Re: Rock Band 2
MTV brings viewers the best in lifestyle and competition reality shows, plus live events featuring the biggest names in entertainment.
There’s been some legitimate confusion over the decision making process behind “AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack,” an 18-song retail product.
This isn’t like “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith,”. There are no unique character models, venues or an AC/DC-inspired art design to the track pack. It’s just 18 new songs.
Fans were quick to ask questions. How come this isn’t just a downloadable album for “Rock Band” and “Rock Band 2″? Why do I have to go to Wal-Mart to pick it up?
While checking out this and “Rock Band 2″ on Wii in San Francisco last week, Harmonix spokesperson John Drake (mostly) answered these questions.
The reason “AC/DC Live” can’t be purchased at your local EB Games or Best Buy is because of the deal that AC/DC had already struck with Wal-Mart as an exclusive distributor of their upcoming album, “Black Ice.” The negotiations with AC/DC over the track pack required that Harmonix become part of the existing Wal-Mart agreement.
As for why the track pack won’t be released separately as downloadable content — you instead have to export the retail disc onto your hard drive to use it in “Rock Band 2″ — Harmonix couldn’t explicitly say, but provided MTV Multiplayer with plenty of hints.
“If we were on iTunes, we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs from the album - and we don’t think that represents us musically.”
AC/DC doesn’t like iTunes, which traditionally allows consumers to purchase albums as whole or choose individual songs. “Rock Band”’s philosophy is the same way. This might go a long way to explaining the lack of downloadable AC/DC. Just look at this quote from AC/DC guitarist Angus Young to UK newspaper The Telegraph:
“We don’t make singles, we make albums,” said Young. “Way back in the Seventies, we drew these figures on the back of an envelope for our record company. We showed them how much they earned from us if we sold one million singles and how much they earned if we sold one million albums. The difference was staggering . . . If we were on iTunes, we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs from the album - and we don’t think that represents us musically.”
We asked Harmonix if they would categorically rule out the possibility of the AC/DC songs becoming available as downloadable content in the future. They wouldn’t. They hinted that if AC/DC were to change its attitude towards downloadable music, that could directly affect “Rock Band,” too.
For now, however, if you want AC/DC, you’ll need to head to Wal-Mart.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

If you browse the DLC through the game, you can select a song and preview it. It'll download a short excerpt of the song for you to hear. Helped me out a lot with some of the more obscure songs.Comment

I appreciate <!--dkgojackets-->dkgojackets PM'ing me and offering to send me the game.
Thing is, looking at the tracklist, I know quite a few of the AC DC songs on the list just by the name and I am sure if I heard of a few more I don't recongnize. But for $30 bucks? I think I'll pass. If someone picked it up, could you send it to someone to download the tracks on the 360 as well? I would paypal someone for half, but I can't see paying $30. (If I was a bigger Rock fan, I could see it though so I understand those who will purchase) They went with live versions of the songs right? Why not masters like every other track?
Just wanted to say, my fiance and myself are just addicted. We are playing on easy but having a BLAST! Glad we went ahead and bought it.Last edited by Brandwin; 10-21-2008, 08:41 AM.Comment
