    I LOVE the prequel idea.

Marston in his outlaw days, running with Dutch's crew, that'd be a hell of a game.

Especially since the game was set relatively late as far as the time period for the wild west.

Since R* is testing out multiple characters I'd welcome playing as a Native American and a Calvary officer. Or a legit Marshall. So much they can do really.

A prequel does make the most sense, but I really don't think John would be the main character of the next game if it were a prequel. We already sort of know what caused John to turn from his way and marry Abigail.

I don't believe that story could be nearly as impressive as this one was. Although, I still want to know all the details on why John left Dutch and the gang. Maybe with this GTA route, they'll do multiple characters again.

I don't plan on buying another video game console after 360, I've always told myself this will be it for me console-wise. A RDR sequel would seriously threaten that plan.

I would love to play as a bear. Not even kidding. Then I'd turn on an invincibility cheat and just eat everyone

EXACTLY what I was thinking, when the prequel thought came to me.

Hearing John tell stories in game, made we want to know all the crazy **** that him and the gang did before the story of RDR began and why he really left.

I agree, I think the story is going to be tough to top, which usually originals are, but I think a prequel would be the better of the two options.

I can't see myself playing a RDR game with anyone else but John Marston as the main character.

They could set it in modern times and have you fighting against a Mexican drug cartel or something.....No, that's a terrible ****ing idea, who would be dumb enough to do that?

Man this game was just so much fun, the scenery was great.. all the different things to do, landscapes, day and night adventures....

I would absolutely buy a sequel day 1

Except they killed off John and I couldn't stand his son who seemed so wussy like... I still think they didnt give me enough time to beat on that guy who set John up

Makes me want to just load the game back up and torture him for a week straight

What if the sequel had his son as the main protagonist, but he's fallen off the wagon after the death of his father? Running around with gangs, causing mayhem, alcoholism, etc. that you play through. You could include flashbacks to when John was in his gang, robbing, stealing from trains, etc. The gang turns on you and steals your wife/kid, or maybe kills off the mother. You then seek revenge against them.

Probably an awful idea, but just running with it.

                            LOL

I'd rather John's brother comes and goes on a murderous rampage on the whole town starting with law enforcement

I still think the best idea for a sequel is a prequel where you play as John in his younger days, or a prequel that tells the back story of Landon Ricketts in the old west.

There just needs to be a new western game. Such a great setting for a game. Red Dead is so great, will be on again tonight playing as one of the misc criminals and wreaking havoc amongst the good innocent people of Hennigan's Stead.
