Re: Red Dead Redemption
@ Chef
I'll never forget how the game starts in the middle of they day and after an initial mission I rode to Armadillo and was putzing around north of the town near the giant cliff when nightfall completely set in and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
Looking down over Armadillo, towards Mexico, with the brightest stars and a huge moon...I don't think I've ever been so in awe of a video game before. I just put my controller down and stared at my TV for a minute or two. I was stunned by the acting, the scene itself, the surroundings, just incredible.Last edited by Chef Matt; 05-17-2012, 06:50 PM.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Red Dead Redemption
Yeah, I'd love to be able to block out having ever played it, just to put it in again... just a magnificant game.
If the past few Rockstar games are anything to help judge by, GTA 5 is a MUST BUY! These guys always deliver, yet are never out there plastering their name all over everything.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
No game has ever just completely engulfed me like this game did when I first played through it. Seriously, it's all I wanted to do and I never wanted it to end.
At night (in the game) I literally never rode my horse faster than a trot, just so I could take in the sounds and the stars.
And the first time a thunder storm rolled in??? Incredible.
Wow... thinking about it makes me want to forget it all (like you guys) just so I can have that same feeling again.
Yup... After I beat Max Payne, looks like I'm playing through this one more time.Last edited by DickDalewood; 05-17-2012, 11:09 PM.Comment

I think I'm going to have to pick this game up again. I just played it the one time, and I want another go with it really badly now.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
<oyes I also have been playing without the mini map and enjoying the game so much more.. also put the aiming on Expert and have turned all my roaming time into a hunting game. I refuse to use Dead Eye on my prey. (except for Cougars, wolves and bears etc dammit)</o
so if I cannot down the buck or rabbit, bird with free style aiming, ... he lives. and then back to do a mission or challenge or two.
It's a frigging awesome game.<o></o

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Saw something new last night, small but new, even after 40+ hours with the game.
SpoilerI was near the Hanging Rock starting the American Appetites stranger mission, doing some flower picking and hunting when I saw two cougars chasing down a random guy. I've seen it plenty of times where a pack of wolves are attacking someone but never TWO cougars. It was pretty scary.I'm not going to lie, I had to use the Dead Eye to kill the second one, it was creeping around behind me and was ready to pounce lol.

Those cougars just don't play. They seemed to be like ninjas my first time through...coming out of nowhere and mauling me. They don't ease off from some measly gunfire like the wolves might do either.Comment
