I agree. If I get 60 hours or more in a single player game and it keeps my attention that is gravy. I am completely fine with a 20 to 40 hour single player experience.

The dollar per hour of entertainment still far exceeds most any other entertainment medium.

I thought hardcore was just an aiming setting where there is no auto lock on. I could be wrong though.

No, it's more than than less hagen health, slower regeneration, stuff is more expensive, etc

                You will NOT be disappointed.
I'm going to re-buy it this weekend. The GOTY edition is $25 so it's more than worth it.

I was playing this last week after getting back into the game and wanting to replay the story; and I was brought back into the greatness of RDR. I was playing poker in Armadillo when one of the guys one two seperate occasions called my all-in, on nothing only to hit a high card flush on the river card. This upset me quite a bit, especially after the second time that this occurred; and of course the only explanation was that he was obviously cheating. Due to the fact that this individual was cheating, I felt the need to calmly get up, walk over to the invidual, and proceed to put my gun against his chest and take the life of that cheating bastard. I felt much better.

Ya'll have made me want to go through the game again. I'm going on vacation the week of July 4th and the PS3 is tagging along for this purpose and maybe some MLB 12. The first time I played I was your typical "good guy" this time around if someone pisses me off or looks at me wrong their day will probably take a turn for the worse.

I've taken to often playing The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford soundtrack in the background while I play. By and large, it fits perfectly.

What is hagen health? Also, is hardcore extremely difficult or is it still manageable to plug away throughout the game? For the normal gamer relatively well-acquainted with Red Dead, will hardcore lead to many moments where missions will have to be tried and re-tried dozens of times?

Hagen is the result of autocorrect on the phone...

I didn't get too far into hardcore yet. It seems like it'd be pretty hard. It also makes ammo scarcer/more expensive, horses are twice as expensive (and don't regenerate health, I believe), and you don't find as much money.
