I think I need to find some resist magic items so I can enchant that on to my Daedric Armor. It's going pretty well against enemies with weapons and such, but against a powerful mage, I can still die after a few fireballs.

Anyway, so Iv beaten the game. Im level 30 2H warrior beast mode with Daedric Armor and Ive been doing random quests and flying by like its nothing. So I join the theives guild where I have to poison some Rats? IDK I wasnt paying attention. Anyway, after killing a dozen rats I spot a mage and Im thinking Im about to savage beast mode all over this nub. Dude hits me with two fireballs instant kill. I didnt see that one coming. I hadent died in 10 levels man. I still cant get past this little mage. 2 fireballs?Last edited by kingkilla56; 11-17-2011, 02:54 PM.Comment

The 2nd time I was a lot smarter. There is a pillar in the middle of the room that I danced around while firing shots at him. Since your 2H though maybe you could try using some scrolls to deal a bunch of fast damage and stay on top of your HP?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
SpoilerAs far as I know, you're not given access to any house in Riverwood. The Blacksmith's family is very kind to you and makes you feel at home there but it's not your house. The door is locked at night and you don't have a key.
Now if you're talking about a house that you've bought somewhere else, then yes, it's a safe storage place.SpoilerThe house of Hod and Gerdur they said I could use, they give a key also I believe so I'm not sure if that's a "Hey you can sleep here, dont store your **** or we're going to take it"Aaron

I don't remember getting a key to that house, i'm pretty sure I had to pick the lock when I tried to get in there at night. That being said, I did store some minor loot in the chest at the foot of the bed for a bit but I wouldn't 100% say it's safe.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

I think it might depend on dialogue choices and previous choices in the starter area to determine what I was wondering. Going to try leaving something there and see if it sticks around though like a pickaxeAaron

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
SpoilerThe beginning is slightly different based on who you follow out during the opening dragon attack sequence.
-If you follow the Imperial guy who was nice to you, you met up with his family (The blacksmith's house). You get some free items and some rest, but are then only allowed in as you would be any other house.
-If you follow the Stormcloak fugitive out, you meet up with his family (Hod and Gerdur...the loggers). You get some free stuff here too, I think, and also a key to their house and an offer to use it.
To kind of answer the question about storing stuff there, my friend went that route and has stored stuff with no real problem, but he's only stored things of minimal value just in case. To my knowledge he hasn't run into any issues.
Personally, I'm paranoid about losing good loot and would just immediately invest in the house in Whiterun (it's $5,000 gold-but apparently there's a trick to get it and keep your money too).Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
SpoilerThe guy you break out with tells you to talk to his sister, I think she gives you the key when you talk to her.
I killed a giant, they hit for a lot, but they don't have huge amounts of HP and they do stagger. I thought I was screwed when my follower darted off to fight it, but I ran in anyway, it swung once and missed then overhand power swing, stagger, overhead power swing, stagger, overhead power swing, stagger, regular swipe, force shout, stagger, overhead power swing, death (I'm a 2h, heavy armor Orc, BTW).
Just a tip: When decorating your house, spending over an hour manipulating decorations into the perfect spot, it might be good to unequip your shout so you don't accidentally hit it and ruin all your work. I almost wanted to cry.
Edit: From beginningSpoilerOh, so you can follow more than just one guy? I don't remember having a choice.Last edited by Burns11; 11-17-2011, 06:48 PM.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
SpoilerYeah, after you jump out of that Tower near the very beginning of the dragon attack and then follow the Imperial Guard for awhile, you come to the point where he confronts the Stormcloak prisoner (right before you enter the keep). They both ask you to follow them and whichever one you follow determines the enemies you face on your way through the keep (Stormcloaks or Imperials) and who you meet up with in Riverwood.
It's easy to miss as you've got a dragon breathing fire on you and, for me at least, I just wanted to not die...lol. I only realized you could make a choice watching my friend play through as he followed the Stormcloak guy.Comment
