Man, the skeleton key is WAAAY overpowered in this game vs Oblivion, it pretty much makes the entire lockpick skill tree useless.

Not sure. I haven't had any trouble with missions thus far.

Haven't fought a dragon yet, only cleared one dungeon, havent bought a home, havent learned any shouts, haven't used one bit of magic yet, havent created anything using alchemy but I'm already having a blast. I spent about 2 hours yesterday just hunting deer and elk with my bow, and eating mushrooms and flowers trying to discover their ingredients. Today I plan on chopping a bunch of wood and selling it to make some cash and then reading a few of the 30 something odd books I've collected so far. Might wander around and try to discover a few more locations too. This game is great, can't imagine how much better it will be once I start actually playing it- doing quests and gaining new items, armor etc.
I'm mad you're playing this game as real life.

Wow, I didn't see my first Elven til a while in the game. Very nice find.

I too love the randomness. You never know what to expect.

I just did a early quest in white run where you have to rescue the brother in the Thalamor Prison.

At lvl 38 I got killed like 6-8 times by the scaled mages. So the quests definitely scale a bit.

Yeah, they definitely scale with you. I've fought some TOUGH opponents as I level up.

Are there any homes that you get your own smithing section though?

Would installing to the HD help this at all? I've only got a 20GB HD so its tough to clear out the space necessary to do this, but if it helps I will make room.
Firstly, installing to your hard drive will create additional texture issues - far worse ones than the occasional pop-in that you're experiencing. Until they patch the game, installing to a flash drive is the way to go if you want want to quiet the console, extend the life of your dvd drive, and reduce load times. Installation will not, however, remedy the pop-in. This occurs from time-to-time whether the game is installed or not.

I'm 40 hours into the game and I've only done 5 main storyline quests. This game is ridiculous. I'm not sure I'll ever even get to the end of the main story.

Level 13 High Elf Destruction Mage.

I am becoming a serious bad ***. I am a Rune Master and an apprentice with Fire, Ice and Lighting. I am a budding Alchemist as well as an up and coming enchanter. I also focus on Conjuration.

I went into my first character thinking Battle Mage/Arcane Warrior type.....and I just went in the pure mage direction using destruction and conjuration for my weapons.

Today I played 5 straight hours as I had a day off (not really...but I could not resist playing). I ventured from the Mage College with all he intentions of doing my first Graybeard quest and like what always seems to happen I get lost in the wonder of Skyrim and going off on my own adventures.

I was riding west when I saw a couple arguing. I overheard them talking about a big wedding in Solitude at the Blue Palace. They also had a bodyguard with them. So get off my horse and talk with the husband and he just was flat out rude and talking all kinds of crap to me. I then raise my hand and proceed to burn him to a crisp. His wife runs and the body guard tries to take me down....big mistake. I conjure up my battle axe and take him out. Then I catch up to the wife and she begs for mercy.....I then take out my two handed great sword and kill her.

They had a bunch of flawless jewels, and over 400 gold.

I figured "let me go check out this place called Solitude". Wow awesome city and now I am doing some questing their.

It was the first evil thing I have done in the game and it felt damn good.

                          Best game ever.

yet... I'm level 30, 100 saves in right now.

Oh, and Decapitation is AWESOME. I've seen some slick animations. Forsworn heads roll really awkwardly down the hill due to their antlers

And there's nothing more intimidating than seeing one of your Forsworn buddies heads rolling down the hill towards you after I force shout them down

                            Loving this game.

I've had a Samsung DLP for the last 5 years and have always just used the tv's speakers for everything (gaming, tv watching, Blu-Ray)...until today. I bought and set up a new Denon receiver with a couple of Sony floor speakers. I thought Skyrim was awesome already. But after playing the game a bit with the new sound? It just increased the enjoyment of the experience tenfold. When I heard a dragon flying overhead for the first time at one point, I actually jumped some in my seat. Scared the crap out of me.

As far as character and where I'm at? I'm a level 10 Redguard battlemage, I guess. Increased perks to destruction, one-handed, light-armor, and smithing, mostly. Right now I'm at...
