Lmao @ these horse tales. I've really got to sit down and put some time into this game. I've only got to play for about an hour so far.

My roommate was playing and he was scaling down a mountain side on his horse. I told him he was playing with fire and the horse would die if he kept it up. He goes:

      "My horse never dies man"

      *literally 10 seconds later*

      "This is some bull****!"

Anytime I try to sit down to play for an hour it turns into 4 hours.

I can't play this game for a quick one hour session. It is not possible. I am attempting to work from home today as my son has all week off for Thanksgiving and my wife is working today.

Skyrim is calling me......all the damn time. And my son loves watching me play (he is 7). He loves when a Dragon battle happens or when we go adventuring into caves and mines. He loves Lord of the Rings so he is really into this stuff. We have played Baldurs Gate I and II together on the original XBOX...loves his hack n slash games.

He keeps asking why Skyrim does not have that (Co-Op). I told him it is a game for your own adventures.....I am sure he will want to play soon!

          Questions:

Do any of you play in mainly 3rd person or do you use 1st person the most?

Did you like the prior Elder Scrolls? (I did not..they weren't horrible, but I did not love them )

You can pretty much do what you want. For most quests the game will pick a dungeon that you haven't visited yet and is appropriate challenge for your abilities. You may find some artifacts related to a quest you haven't started yet but this has been rare for me.

Horses suck for the most part. Not being able to interact with anybody/anything while on the horse basically makes them useless to me. Not being able to fight, talk to anyone, collect alchemy ingredients etc without getting off the horse makes it so frustrating.

It makes traveling much easier. If I see a lot of plants I can harvest I walk around the area and do my ingredient gathering then get back on.

Not being able to interact and fight is a little annoying I agree. But adventuring around the realm is far better having some transportation.

I play mainly in 3rd person view only because im using a controller this.time and it makes it a little easier for me. I generally use mouse and keyboard but the menus suck this year on pc unless your using a controller.

My first experience with elder scrolls was morrowind and ive been pretty much hooked since then. They were buggy yes, but just the sense of adventure and the huge scale of the games mad them fun for me. The pc mod community helped a lot for morrowind and oblivion. I also love the fact that you can almost completely ignore the main story line and still have tons to do.

On the other hand I won't get stuck inside rooms or doorways anymore and won't randomly get pushed out of the way while trying to shoot a bow while sneaking.

Now I just have to deal with Lydia setting off arrows traps in every dungeon. Maybe she'll eventually learn.
Yea that bugs me how every follower I have had walks into every trap. I will avoid a trip wire or pressure plate and when I get past it i will just turn around and be like, "Look at this idiot", as they walk right through the trap.

I made it there for the story purposes at like level 20, but I had been wandering around previously and made it there.

Do you guys automatically get attacked by giants? They only attack me if i attack them first. I can walk right up to them and they wont do anything.
