Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Maybe it has a low value, I tend to avoid things that have a low gold to weight ratio. Or perhaps you were implying it was the something you get on main quest?-Ohio State-

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I have a ingredients question.
I know when you eat it you learn its effects. Now my question comes in how do you unlock the 3 other "unknowns". Each items starts with 4 unknowns. Eating it will unlock 1, so how do you unlock the others?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Man, just how prevalent is this PS3 problem?
I was warming up to this game and just about to get it, then came across the news that the PS3 version was having problems.
From what I can tell it's only a matter of time before lag kicks and makes the game unplayable. Of course, the PR guy says "some" users are experiencing problems. Why wouldn't I believe a PR guy? Because they are all liars that's why, dirty wretched liars who will burn in the fire without flame.
Anyhoo, PS3 is the only option for me. Guess I'm gonna have to wait and see if they actually fix the problem.
Experiment, just try two ingredients and hope, sometimes found recipes will reveal other effects. There is also a perk which will reveal another effect when eaten, and you can select it three times to give all four effects.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I think you need to get more alchemy perks, that should let you find out the other properties. At least through eating anyway.-Ohio State-

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Random experimentation (you will waste a lot of ingredients this way)
- Finding or purchasing alchemy recipes
- Sometimes when you create potions with known effects it will randomly unlock some of the additional effects
- The experimenter perk. Each level will unlock an additional effect when eaten.Comment

Personally I haven't had a problem, but my save file hasn't crossed the 6MB threshold where apparently this starts to crop up.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Example, you have two ingredients that both have Restore Magicka as their first effect. The first ingredient also has Resist Fire as it's third effect, and the other ingredient has Resist Fire as it's second effect. When you mix these two you'll get a potion that Restores Magicka and Resist Fire. You'll also unlock the third and second effects of those two ingredients.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Part of the issue with the framerate could be the numerous amounts of saves people are making. Each save file is about 5 megs early on , and can grow exponentially. Two of my 3 characters save files are at 10 megs now, you take take and add a lot of constant saving, which many players do with this game, and you can get 50+ (maybe even more) save files of 10 megs plus, clogging everything up.-Ohio State-

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Bethesda is saying that only a fraction of the people are experiencing the frame rate issue but according to this poll that fraction is greater then 8/10ths.
For the most part, only people that are having lag would be looking at threads like that and voicing their opinion, so the overall percentages end up grossly skewed.Comment

Don't jinx yourself man!
Bethesda is saying that only a fraction of the people are experiencing the frame rate issue but according to this poll that fraction is greater then 8/10ths. Patches have already been submitted for certification. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1213007p1.html Whether or not it will address the frame rate issue is still a question at this point.

Why would the amount of saves mess with framerate?Comment
