One thing I really like is how you never know where a quest will take you. I had a quest in my log that I thought would be a quick two minute job, and instead it turned into something much bigger and also led me directly to another quest that is going to be very, very interesting.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever. -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Damn my short attention span. I'm about to start a third character, and haven't even come close to any amount of closure with my other characters. My first guy I feel I screwed up, to many skill points in to many different area's, I have like 50+ skill points in like 8 categories, jack of all trades master of none. My Mage is going well, but I can't help but want to get back to my warrior roots.
I'm on my 2nd character now. My first was just to get the hang of the game and explore a little bit. My 2nd is a Nord warrior. Uses 2H greatsword, light armor, archery, smithing and alchemy. Doesn't sneak into battle, only when hunting. Doesn't use any magic of any kind (won't even pick up spells, scrolls or enchanted weapons). It's been fun so far. I haven't put any perks into light armor yet as I'm using a heavy armor breastplate and don't like to wear a helmet.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Yeah, I just went up to a giant and basically two hit him for the kill. Felt so good to take one down. Also took out 3 other mammoths in the process. For those wondering, the game doesn't necessarily get too easy later on. It probably doesn't hurt that i'm a level 28.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Has anyone ever ordered a 52"+ TV off Sams/Walmart/Best Buy..etc? I ordered it the 15th and it's shipping through SEKO. I'm just wondering how long it takes and if anyone has had any trouble after receiving it.
This game is pretty good. It's actually got me hooked pretty good. I do notice the framerate issues with the PS3 though. I hope they patch it quick. Not a huge deal to me though.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I've read tales on here of battles with multiple dragons, mammoths vs. dragon, dragons in villages, dragons and wolves and bandits at once, etc. but in my adventures I had never encountered anything so drastic till tonight and here's my novel to tell the story.
(No spoilers really, just saving space)
SpoilerIt was in the middle of the night and rain had just started coming down as I was walking up a mountain path towards a small mining settlement. All of a sudden I hear the roar of a dragon behind me. Spinning around, I draw my bow and barely catch a glimpse of it swooping down upon me before I'm completely engulfed in flaming breath. I run for cover behind a rocky outcropping and look to the sky to track it's path. I see it heading up the mountain towards the settlement and I rush up the hill after it.
Without warning the screen goes blinding white as I'm showered in a hail of painful shards of ice. Frantically, I look around trying to determine the source of the blast and spot the Blood Dragon (!) that has decided to join in the fray. It too flies up the mountain towards the settlement.
I continue my rush up the mountain haphazardly firing arrows as I charge. I can see the two dragons circling ahead in the darkness and raining a deadly barrage of fire and ice breath down upon the village. As I get close I can hear the guards making exclamations about how they don't want to die tonight. The guards provide a temporary distraction as I'm able to weaken the normal dragon with my arrows. It's forced to land and I dispatch it with a flurry of dual wielded swords.
The Blood Dragon is another matter. At this point the guards are all dead and it's go time! After many arrows and health potions later I was able to finally whittle away at the Blood Dragon's health enough that it finally landed. Earthbound it was no match for my speed and ferocity and I'm finally able to fell the foul beast.
Phew! Two dragons at once and my first encounter with a Blood Dragon. Three guards, one villager, and a goat all dead. Many chickens miraculously survived and luckily for the rest of the folk it happened in the middle of the night and everybody was still sound asleep safe in their barracks and houses.
I snuck into everyone's houses, "borrowed" what ever I found of interest and left before sunrise. Hopefully the dragon skeletons littered about will make them forget about all the personal effects they lost that night.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Ran into my first two frost dragons today. Somehow I failed to notice the first one perched comfortably atop the tower I was making my way towards.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Finished up the Theives Guild Quest Line...
SpoilerIt was the most enjoyable yet. The characters were pretty likable in Brynjolf and Karliah. Something about Karliah's voice. Was also a pretty good set piece for the final fight. Not to mention Nightengale armor looks amazing
It was also funny to learnSpoilerthat Karliah's voice actress is Mo, the ref from GUTS
Something I figured out, maybe slow on the uptake is that you can "re-smith" your armor/weapons. Was messing around with some unique weapons, and was able to upgrade my Legendary Daedric Sword to 95 damage, up from 85 or so. So if you smithed something earlier, try it again.Last edited by LambertandHam; 11-20-2011, 09:49 AM.Comment
