One thing the game is missing is a way to fly to locations. I finally found Fort Hraggstad after looking for it for 3 hours. I also managed to get enough gold to buy the house in Solitude, although it used up all my gold. I'll admit-I hate trying to get to the locations in the mountains.

One thing I realized about the mountains for me is that it's best to wait until it's daylight. I haven't had much problems except for when I first starting playing the game. Took me forever how to climb this huge mountain.

I'm getting the itch to play for like 12 hours after not playing at all this week. I just might make this my weekend game thanks to tax season. Hopefully I can finally post pictures of my characters this weekend.

Yep the itch came back sooner than I expected. I noticed in a post from someone earlier that I never restored the Thieves Guild to their former glory. I mistakenly thought that completing the quest-line would do that automatically, had no idea I had to do a certain number of jobs for them in addition.

Yeah, I was reading up on that while I was doing some of the jobs. It seems like it could take forever. I'll probably just have to dedicate one play session to doing the jobs and restoring it since apparently I'm the only one working.

Is it just me or is this new PC patch flat out awesome? I've seen a considerable jump in performance and my CPU is now running about 10 degrees cooler. I'm now able to basically play the game maxed out on my laptop. The only concession I've had to make is turning shadows down to medium.

If I could just force myself to wait three months after the release to buy any Bethesda game...

Any other differences w/ the patch?

I'm waiting for the patch too. I finally starting getting bad FPS after my save file got over 12.5 MB.

What's really made be put the game down for the last 10 days now is because I finally ran into a glitch that frustrated me. It broke the Companions quest line and I can't complete it. The patch notes say it addresses the issue so hopefully it puts me back on track.

I also want the patch because I'm still running on 1.2, the one that broke resistances. I never installed 1.3 because I wasn't experiencing any frame rate issues with 1.2 so I didn't want to ruin a good thing. I want to start a second character anyway and do all the side quests I haven't touched yet (civil war, mage college, brotherhood). This character is gonna be a mage so I need those resistances fixed to make it any fun.

Just curious about the laptop, custom build or company manufactured?

Reason I ask is because I play Skyrim on 360, but since I've been playing FO3 & FONV on my laptop I was thinking about buying a newer more powerful one that could run Skyrim because my current one probably can't.

BTW, sorry for the semi off topic guys.

The performance boost with this new patch is pretty huge, I'm sure you could probably run the game if you are playing Fallout. It's quite obviously based on a modified Gamebryo engine. According to Nvidia's site my GT555m is below spec but I'm running the game nearly maxed with fps constantly north of 40.

I feel like a complete and utter noob for having to ask this, but where can I find my exact comp specifications?

Anyway, I stumbled upon Raldbthar yesterday. That place took forever to clear out. Lydia has a tendency to be a complete moron 70% of the time.

I think the dxdiag will tell you. To find it search for the dxdiag in the search bar.

Im not very CPU savy so someone else may be able to tell you a beter way.
