It's too bad you can't do parties in the game world. It would be awesome to roll around with 5 other mages just destroying every damn thing.

Speaking of mages, I know everyone says J'Zargo is the best mage follower and all because he keeps leveling. That's cool, but he tends to only use that Sparks spell, which really really sucks. I gave him a pretty sweet staff that does a hefty amount of damage, tricked him out in legendary blades gear, enchanted with destruction and mana regen and made him a nice one handed sword upgraded to legendary. Still, all he does is spam that Sparks spell. Enemies just be laughing at him when he uses it on them.

If I leave him to fight say a frost troll by himself, it takes him like 20 minutes to kill it spamming sparks. Physical damage dealers do a lot more damage than him even with the level cap.

The girl from Azura's Shrine is nuts. I've given her a lot of top notch equipment and sometimes she demolishes enemies before I even get a chance. One of the reasons I removed her but also... you will get caught in a lot of cross fire.

Is there a way to increase the gold that merchants carry? I have a bunch of daedra hearts and ebony ore, but I don't want to get shorted selling my armor and stuff.

Also, has anyone had an issue with Gloombound mine not producing more ore? Its been 38 days and it hasn't reloaded its ore yet.

Invest in speechcraft. You can invest 500 gold and later on add 1000 gold to each vender.

I usually stick to smacking enemies with blunt objects instead of magic, but has anyone tried some of the master level destruction spells?

Idk, Skyrim looks pretty, but it's just so damn shallow compared to the RPGs of old. It seems like all the efforts have gone towards graphics instead of depth and complexity. I've been having more fun playing AD&D: Pool of Radiance from 1988 recently.

I agree. There is very little strategy in combat for skyrim

The cost of making these games have skyrocketed through the roof with all the fancy voice acting and graphics, that they have to market the game to a wider variety of ppl. Not just the true RPG headz of old. At least the classics are still there to be played, i guess.

My only big complaint is that your choices, outside of the civil war quest, don't really mean anything.

If there was a questline similar (read: exactly like) to Excalibur, I would be all for over it.

Yeah and there is a pretty easy thing you can do, if you have the patience, to boost that skill. It may have been mentioned in this thread already...

I know a lot of people didn't like it - but I still prefer combat from Morrowind. It wasn't anything special - but it was ratings driven. If you sucked at something, you'd miss or fail at it until you got decent in it.

For instance - if you went Mage - you weren't going to equip a sword and start killing mud crabs; you'd miss constantly. You'd need to rely on what you were good with; and practice the rest until you had some ability with them.

I love Skyrim so far - and I said earlier that it may be my new favorite Elder Scrolls game, but I'm still on the edge with it. I think Morrowind may still hold the #1 spot for me. This game feels very combat and action driven to me, which I enjoy, but in Morrowind there were so many ways to approach it. I remember making a mage who almost never entered combat, and still went through tons of quests and explored.

I'm also not a fan of this leveled encounters stuff. You can't seem to find anything great until you're higher levels. I also loved the spell creation in Morrowind - where you could mix up spells and make some really crazy combinations.

Skyrim is amazing, though, and I must say that visuals are important in a game. The visuals and scenery are just outstanding - especially in the mountains. I love this game; but I definitely agree with the combat an depth.

Patch 1.4 can't get here soon enough.

For those like me on PS3....the game is not stable anymore. Too many freezes and frame rate issues. Some days I am good...some days I have to turn it off after getting 3 freezes inside of 1 hour.

So I hope this next patch really can address this major issue.

I love this game with a passion. I want to pour in another 200 hours. But I won't if this keeps up.
