Just got Skyrim PC on Steam... now it's just a waiting game for my laptop. And I'll be in Columbus for the next 2 days for a business meeting, without my laptop

Re: the official texture pack, I just read that you can't uninstall it. Meaning, if you get it, but for whatever reason you don't want it anymore, the most you can do is disable the esp in the data file, but you'll be stuck with 3.5 gigs of stuff taking up space on your hard drive. If you delete them manually, Steam just re-downloads it. Yet another reason for me to stick with the player created texture packs for now.

Wow, that's pretty hardcore. Sucks if it's true. I don't see why they would go with that kind of option. Terrible.

1.4 patch coming out for 360 owners sometime Thursday. PS3 users should get it tomorrow(according to Bethesda Staff).

While on the 360, looking forward to the memory and stability improvements.

If the ps3 patch does drop tomorrow it is pretty good timing for me. I need one more trophy till my Assassin's Creed Revelations platinum.

The patch will get me back into skyrim to finish up some side quests till Twisted Metal comes out next week.

Internal Bethesda 'Skyrim Game Jam' sizzle reel features dragon mounts, giant mudcrabs, etc...

During his DICE 2012 keynote, Bethesda Games Studios game director and executive producer Todd Howard discussed an annual tradition at the company: a game jam, where staff are allowed to create anything they want on company time for one week. This year, the only stipulation was creating something within the recently released Skyrim.

In a sizzle reel presented to attendees, the public was shown what the minds at Bethesda could create. On the list? Mountable dragons, epic mounts (like flaming horses), giant mudcrab bosses that rival any other games, a new skill tree focused on lycanthropy, Kinect-enabled shouts (like this!), the ability to build homes, adopt children, use spears, and much more.

Howard was quick to note that the features shown in the video -- which were all running within the game -- were experiments. "How much of this stuff sees the light of day? To be determined. Could it be in a future DLC? We don't know. Could various parts of it just be released for free? We don't know."

Man, I am praying they bring that stuff to the game, or at least the modders figure out a way to do it. Here's a list of things shown (if you skipped the article):

• Flow based water shader
• Spears as weapons with a new animation system
• Kill cams for ranged combat (follow the arrow!) and magic
• New stealth options like water arrows and assassinations
• Guards relight areas
• Paralysis runes

• Epic mounts like a flaming horse
• Mounted combat on horses

• Verlet surfaces for non-rigid objects ...
• ... Like fat giants!
• Ice and fire arrows
• Werebears!
• Lycanthropy-specific (werewolf) skill tree

Man, that stuff would make a fantastic game that much better. I would pay for a lot of that stuff.

Dragon mouts would be awesome, as would being able to engage in combat from a horse. It sucks you can't draw your bow while riding a horse.

All those little symbols carved into the side of doors and houses actually have a meaning. Nice little detail that can be overlooked, like I did 100+ hours late.

All those little symbols carved into the side of doors and houses actually have a meaning. Nice little detail that can be overlooked, like I did 100+ hours late.

People should realize Bethesda doesn't just put details in all willy nilly. I remember seeing the symbol near the merchan'ts door in Whiterun. It wasn't till I got to the thieves guild that I figured them out. I never remember what each one means though.

I'm on Diplomatic Immunity. I just freed the prisoner and asked him all the questions. No one showed up like shown in guides so I can get the key for the trap door. Am I now stuck???

Edit- it worked on my 3 reload of my save. Ugh.
