I know for consoles you save the game then look at your save. It will have a number that looks like 00.00.00 It goes hours, minutes, seconds.

Steam tracks your play time if you loaded it through there. It says it under the "PLAY" button in the library.

            Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

So I took some gold and soul gems from the Restoration mages room at Winterhold College. I saw nobody around at all.

Next morning I go outside to head to my horse for some adventuring. 3 thugs greet me. I take them all down and find a note on one of them. It appears the mage who I took the gold and soul gems from ordered the hit on me (I forget her name but she is an annoying biatch).

Then leaving Winterhold and on my way to the local mine to get some Iron Ore I get jumped by an assasian from the Dark Brotherhood. Apparently someone else wants me dead as well.

            This game is awesome.

I did a very minor small side quest outside of Whiterun where I helped Cicero the Jester fix his cart. I understand he is part of the Dark Brotherhood.

I think I am going to journey down there and check out this Brotherhood. It may interest me to maybe join them. He he.

The hit squad happened to me too. I got three sets of relatively valuable armor early on as a result!

                Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Battle Cry is the great equalizer.
A powerful wizard was absolutely crushing me with powerful dual firestorm spells. Literally seconds.
I had forgotten about Battle Cry but earlier, but when I loaded an earlier save and snuck up on him,(in his house)...I gave him a Battle Cry(I don't know why Lydia(or your companion) also flees and cowers though) and just chopped away at him with my orc mace. I guess I got myself a free-o house out of it(he attacked me first, I thought I was supposed to talk to him when I originally entered the house). I won't steal anything from his home(I'll dump it outside somewhere) but I will use it for storing my loot.
I have so much. That's still a PITA.
I've also been using a bandit camp(the one that asks for a toll) as a storage center.(I hope that stuff is still there later.)

                Too much.

If we steal keys from people and/or kill someone, can we use their house as our own? I still haven't bought a house yet and I always get nervous about putting my stuff in a chest so I'm forced to just carry everything. I have so much stuff that even my pack mule (Lydia) can't carry anything else.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

So I started a quest for the companions and Lydia was auto dismissed. After the mission can I go back to her and get my stuff back?

She will either be in Breezehome if you purchased or Dragonsreach.

Both of those must be scripted to happen once, because despite continuing to have sticky fingers everywhere I go I have never seen the thugs and despite the Dark Brotherhood proclaiming me already dead (or however they put it in their note) I only saw one assassin and that was probably 40 hours of gameplay ago.

I can get my stuff back right? Just have her join me again and then make the swap?

I think I'm addicted to making characters for some reason. I got my first wood elf sneaky archer up to level 35 or so only doing about 3 or 4 main story quests, then wanted to try a dual wielding redguad. After getting him up to level 10, I wanted to try a dark elf splitting combat and magic. After getting him to 15, I wanted to try a pure mage.

After getting her to the mage college, I wanted to try a 2 handed warhammer swinging orc. I got him to level 10. I like him, but now I'm thinking when I get home today I want to try a one handed combat Nord good with a shield to see what the power bash does.

I don't know what it is, but the first few hours in bleak falls barrow/early dungeons and the initial character building stage is addicting for me. I think I'd like to see what a khajitt thief could do...plus I've never been an argonian... Arrrg
