So the daedric quests are just at random spots around the place without one single quest like the other factions in the game?

Do you guys use an online map to find where they are or does it tell you in the game where the next ones are?

no it won't tell you cause there's no order in which to do the quests. you could always look up the elder scrolls skyrim wiki or any guides like that and it should list all the daedric quests and where to find them

Tonight's order of business is to join the Stormcloaks. Nord Pride!

I finished up the Companions quest line earlier, so I might have to see if folks in Whiterun offer up the proper respect when I stroll back in to town.

          Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I had previously been very vocal on various game forums about my disappointment in Oblivion. Perhaps, it was the most disappointed I've ever been in a game.

I can't believe how well they came in with Skyrim, though. The world feels so much more alive and interesting; it's not just a giant forest. It feels a lot more like Morrowind in terms of variety, but the gameplay and NPCs are better done. I'm early in - just visited the Greybeards, but this may be my favorite Elder Scrolls game to date.

Yeah I might have to do that. I was kinda trying not to 'cheat' by looking it up online but those Daedric quests always seem pretty cool and you get some cool loot from them so I might just bite the bullet and go look up where the rest of them are.

So I just got the achievement for doing fifty miscellaneous objectives, and it makes me think I've done a whole lot of nothing in 25 hours of play (only did the Greybeards for the main quest). I finished the Companions, started Stormcloaks, but do I have to do more random fetch quests or just stick to the major ones that actually have names in each region. Any benefit for doing all the little dinky ones?

Any quest that has a name is probably worth doing, you'll always get some sort of compensation worth while, or advance a storyline. Many of the miscellaneous quests are just radiant quests that keep refilling as part of the "you can never finish the game" sort of thing.

                  You mean clear 50 dungeons?

I hadn't really paid much attention to the trophy list and I remember when the Explorer trophy(discover 100 locations) popped for me. The first thing I thought was that I had visited way more then 100 locations in my directionless travels.

At some point I decided to finally start following the story and doing some quest lines.

Nearly all the miscellaneous quests don't need to be done. There are a few exceptions, like when you're trying to get favor with a Jarl you need to some things for his people, these usually show up as misc quests.

I also know of one Daedric Lord quest that starts from an innocent looking miscellaneous quest.

As for named quests, you can figure out what kind of quest they fall under if you look at the little pinstripe drawing header next to the quest name. Main quests have a dragon in the drawing, side quests have a generic drawing, thieves guild has a little fork/lockpick, Companions have a wolf head, mage college has an eye, Daedric prince quests have the Oblivion gate symbol, etc.

The only benefit from doing the misc ones is that they can lead you to areas of the map that you haven't explored before. I love exploring new areas and running into stuff I didn't expect.

Yeah I married the right girl. Married Camilla Valerius. We had been married two days. I just got home at like 1 am for the first time since the wedding, to unload some stuff. I walk in the door, and there she is slaving away over the cooking spit, I go talk to her, she tells me she is opening a shop to make some money and handed me 200 gold. She also had an Ebony Ingot for me to buy from her. Ain't love grand?

Funny stuff here. I want to buy a crib but I just can't afford it. Gotta wait until "My economy" picks up.

It's always bothered me that I have to buy stuff from my wife.

Like, we're married. I'd let you borrow my Dwarven Sword if you needed it. Just let me have what I need, dammit.

I understand to get a house you have to do something for the city, which I've done in Whiterun. But after that is there a particular place you need to go to buy a house and how do you know which house is for sale?

For Whiterun you have to talk to the Jarl's steward or whatever he is (the father of the blacksmith). He's the one you buy your house and home upgrades from. The house that you buy is the house right beside the blacksmith shop and down the street from the Bannered Mare and those two shops.
