Are folks always hunting during the game or just when need be?

So i just finished this chopper scene and after it gives no direction of wtf to do. I decide to go after a outpost that suddenly popped up on island 1. I havent seen 1 animal or person or vehicle and i cant fast travel. Is this normal? Ive ran like 10 miles and the outpost is still a grip away. Fml

Blah. Nevermind. I died falling off a cliff and it put me back to where i started. I take five steps towards a camp and it goes to a cut scene.

I don't know how many pirates have the clap but rough estimates are a good majority do. It'd add a lot to the atmosphere to have a bit more different dialogue, hell they could've played off the dialogue of Brody going from rich kid to murderer through their commentary. It would've added a little bit.

That and what they do have, is awfully done. People just sort of randomly flail their arms and the voices sound like they are coming out of a cheap recording.

Love the game, but the dialogue is laughable at times.

Once I upgraded everything I really only hunt when things are in the way. I don't go out of my way to hunt.

No hunting ......but I do go out of my way to kill those annoying friggin' birds that look like peacocks, but kill like tigers.

Quick question: I've never played any of the Far Cry games. I'm not a PC Gamer and I see the first Far Cry was on the PC. Is this a series where you need to play all of the games or could I buy FC2 on the PS3 and then move on to FC3? Didn't know if this series has a continuing storyline from game to game.

You can play any of them. The all have their own stories and are completely separate from each other.

I can't say enough about this game.
1/2 hour or a few hours....and you still will find something to do.

Last night I just started up the game, just wanted to open up another area and tower and that was it...and wound up playing for 3 hours....doing nothing but hunting enemies with my knife.

I did that Saturday night....I kept saying "let's clear one more outpost" and ended up getting the first island outpost free.

Over the holiday I was able to deal with most of the first island (I have some Death head quests left, but those are just XP). I've done all the hunting missions, so I'm all loaded up. I only have a few of the sig weapons to unlock as well (though I tend to favor the bow a lot, then silenced sniper, then silenced SMG until I get the silenced Assault sig weapon).

I'm not sure, but I think I'll be getting to the 2nd area soon, based on all the story missions I played last night...Looking forward to it!

Would you have had to play the 1st two far cry games to start this one? Do you miss a large part of the story if u haven't played those games?
