Re: Far Cry 3
I tell you...I wasn't the biggest fan of the first two and I really didn't even think this game would be for me.
I can't say enough about this game.
1/2 hour or a few hours....and you still will find something to do.
Last night I just started up the game, just wanted to open up another area and tower and that was it...and wound up playing for 3 hours....doing nothing but hunting enemies with my knife.

Anyone have any tips on killing the black cougar?? Can I abandon the quest or is it part of the main quest? Also if I abandon it will I be able to come back later in the game and retry?

Just sit back and lob arrows at him. Just don't get too close. I'd let off arrows, then crouch back down into the bushes until he lost interest. Rinse and repeat. I did get too close on the next to last shot however and he charged me. I backed up, and one more well placed arrow put him down.
And as far as I know, the quest should still be there later if you abandon. Not 100% sure however.Comment

Spoileryep, you can.I just beat the story tonight, and was able to continue afterwards to just do as I please. Take more outposts,relics,loot..whatever you need to do or want to do.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

I am not there yet, but unused the animal repelent syringe on the Bear in the cave and be seemed to not attack while I blasted him with the shotgun. Before that I couldn't get more than two shots off before he mauled me.Comment

Re: Far Cry 3
So I decided to mess around with the map editor a little bit, and to be honest as interesting as it is the limitations are dissapointing. I understand the limitation for consoles in terms of the amount of AI on the map they can handle, but the map editor doesn't seem like it was made with the intention of allowing people to create interesting single player maps. I mean sure you can place AI on the map, but at the end of day the other limitations like not giving people the ability to play the map outside of testing it and not having access to any skills (such as takedowns) from the main game makes placing AI kind of pointless. Really don't have much interest in MP so the map editor for me at least doesn't have much value. Even if I did the map editor for MP is limited as well, with vehicles and ai not being allowed on mp maps.
I love the single player portion of the game, just finished the main storyline and I am now working finishing the side stuff, but the map editor seems like a wasted oppurtunity on Ubisoft's part. Theoritically people could have created an endless supply of quality single player/coop content to play after the game was over, but that just doesn't seem possible with all the limitations with regards to creating non MP maps.Last edited by mgoblue678; 12-23-2012, 07:55 AM.My Teams
