    Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

Bought the collectors edition guide because Amazon had it for $28 on Monday. Poster that comes with it is pretty nice and it has everything marked on it. Judging by the guide I am near the end. Kind of figured I was since Cleopatra been in Egypt for a while and Caesar has come. Anyway the guide suggests you be a level 38 before you do the last handful of main missions. Max level is 40 and there are some side quests for level 39 and 40. Looks like I will be leveling up for a while. My breast plate is 2 levels away from being maxed out. My arrows are maxed out. I believe my pouch is maxed out as well. Only thing that isn't maxed out is melee, ranged and hidden blade.

Got to play as Aya. She is a dual blade fighter that heavily relies on dodging. Also for those who loved it in the past

Got a flaming sword that sets enemies and everything it comes in contact with on fire. Also got a bow and arrow that sets people on fire too. Level 34 now and I'm hunting down the bounty hunters now that I can kill them pretty quickly now. Also doing a lot of side quests in Memphis and the surrounding areas. Breastplate is maxed out now.

This game is just awesome. 2-3 hour sessions pass in a blink. The side quests keep me very engaged and I'm enjoying just banging out 6-8 of those quests each time I play. Will get back to the main quest soon, but I'm definitely immersed in the world they've created.

I love how the weapons all have different functions and can be used in different situations.

After 66 hours of play time, this game is beaten. It was excellent and one hell of a ride. I felt so bad for Bayek, he was an optimist until the very end. Level 37 now, going to rank up some more for I can finish these side quests, a couple of these quests don't unlock until you reach level 40. Hands down the best Assassin's Creed game ever made. It was well balanced. The tombs were done correctly. Climbing were done correctly. Combat is extremely balanced. The side missions, especially the ones at the higher levels are very interesting.

Are you holding on for the DLC?

Yes indeed, considering the main missions only take you to 5 areas of the massive map.

                Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

I have never played an Assassins Creed game and avoid open world games in general. However, I rented this game on Saturday morning mainly to see what all the visual fuss was about (PS 4 PRO with 4K HDR tv). Needless to say, I was at Target on Sunday to purchase the game before returning the rental and I have been neck deep ever since.

On Saturday, I took the time to learn the world/controls and am so glad that I did. My all-time favorite series is Uncharted but I never logged the 2-3 hour gaming sessions that I am doing this week. It is an immersive experience that rewards taking the time to figure out what you are doing. The side quests are interesting and the world is alive.

                Looking forward to the weekend!

Absolutely loving this game so far. Just hit Alexandria at level 9 and don't see myself slowing down. One of the first things I did was take out a pod of crocodiles and the big mama croc at one of the question marks on the map. Was crazy fun cutting them down, if not a little intimidating at first.

This is honestly up there with the Witcher 3 for me so far. We'll see if it holds up the rest of the way, but I'm having a blast so far.

Just got to Alexandria myself and so far it’s the biggest city map I’ve played which is kinda cool for giving you that nostalgic AC vibe.

Btw, crocs have nothing on hippos.

Much rather deal with a Croc than a Hippo too.

                        Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

I find hippos easier to kill since they are slower. Crocs are easy too until you start facing level 40 crocs then they are extremely dangerous. The highest hippo I ever came across was level 32. Lions, leopards and hyenas are pretty easy too after a bit. KEYWORD being after a bit. Once you get weapons beyond level 25, animals become more manageable to hunt. Aim for the head. But it also helps to rank up your breastplate and melee attack. IF you don't do those 2 things you will struggle mightly in the game.

Anyway, some one asked what it is like to play the game after you beat it. It is pretty cool. People in different parts of the map recognize that so and so are no longer alive. You get a

. I killed all the bounty hunters. OMG that is a hell of a lot of traveling to do. Thank goodness during the game I traveled all over and unlocked a lot of fast travel places. You get something special for killing all the bounty hunters too.

There are two gladiator arenas that you get fight in and there is a chariot race place that you can race in. So there is a lot of stuff you can still do, along with all the side quests you haven't done or haven't discovered yet. Then you have the over 40 plus roman camps/forts to raid.

I’d be curious for a description on the differences too. I’ve never played a Dark Souls or Bloodborne because I thought they would be too hard or repetitive. I played W3 and I found that combat weak and repetitive.

Was glad to read Origins has expanded combat moves.

I finished the main game. I have to say that I've really enjoyed Origins. The story, the gameplay, everything is so well done that I just got lost playing. I'd look up and 3 hours had passed and I was only doing side quests and viewpoints. I haven't touched 2K18 in over a week! I'm up to a 37 now and I'm fairly sure I'm gonna get the DLC whenever it drops. I still have more exploring to do, as well as more side quests. Not gonna lie, the ending got me in my feels but that's how I know I was vested. Haven't felt like that since the end of AC Revelations. Good job Ubisoft!
