    Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

Is anyone else having an issue with Trial of Anubis? It's the timed content boss battle. I have beaten it twice now, but for some reason every time I return to the game it shows up in my quests like I haven't done it. I'm on XB1.

      Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

Origins is my first foray into the AC universe. This is the first one that has enough RPG aspect for me to be interested. For me to really get vested, I need an open world; I need my character to have a leveling system and skill tree; I need inventory, equipment and some crafting; I need things to do aside from the main quest line (such as plenty of side missions, grinding for materials). Origins delivers on these, although I would like more armor options, but it does so many things so well that it's hard to complain.

Here's a list of some things I really like about Origins:
      • free exploration
      • Egyptian setting, feel and visuals are fantastic
      • enemies don't scale to your level (you can get your butt kicked if you bite off more than you can chew and conversely you can revisit a lower area and dominate)
      • combat is fun and flexible with melee and ranged (I prefer this over Witcher 3)
      • can see enemy level and health bar
      • eagle companion is a nice touch and very useful
      • draw distance is impressive

I've made it to level 18 and really enjoying it. Something surprising happened last time I played. I was in a lower level area cleaning up a quest, a cleared out a small fort comprised of enemies much lower than me. I mounted my steed and started to ride away, but was sudden struck with an arrow that very nearly one-shotted me! Astonished, I quickly panned around and spotted, at a considerable distance, an enemy drawing down on me that had the "skull" symbol for his level, indicating several levels above my own. I ran for my life and barely escaped, but it was very cool to have this encounter that took me completely by surprise.

hit max level 40 last night. Did it by fighting in the gladiator arena in Cyreane. That arena is no joke. It is multiple levels and each level have 3 levels with a boss fight for the 4th level. Those bosses bring the pain. If you don't know how to parry and dodge you are so screwed.

          Memphis is amazing.

          Also, snakes. I hate snakes.

Just got finished with the Hyena.

Pretty cool boss battle and just loved walking up into her lair and taking care of business.

Love the game! Just played first mission with Aya and it was awesome.

Just finished Scarab and afterwards I again find myself with the same gripe about the game and it's main storyline.

When it comes to a boss within the main mission I want to see a cutscene for a one on one battle.

Instead of what just happened to the Scarab. I was on top of the building slaying guards, I get out of conflict and up the stairs comes Scarab. I instantly assasinate him and no contest.

I have done this to most of the bosses thus far. I know it's and assasin game (lol), but for boss fights I would love to have an actual battle with one with no interference. Each boss could have their own unique weapons and abilities etc. I just wanna feel like I earned the kill, rather than so easily sneak assasinate them.

I appreciate the opportunity to take the targets out easily via stealth and strategy. It's been one of the mainstays of the series.

Where the heck are you supposed to go after doing everything in Siwa? The place the mission sent me to, almost every enemy has a skull in difficulty. I’m level 10 and there has to be somewhere easier to go than where they sent me.

I suggest doing side missions and exploring tombs to level up.

Gladiator arena in the northwest of the map. It is by far the most challenging thing in the entire game. But I finally beat them all. Those bosses are no joke, especially the last 2.

Finally starting to get better at this. I was TERRIBLE at first! Really enjoying it, now. I'm level 14 and just going slow and taking everything in. Such a beautiful game!

At first I was pissed at myself for getting this on Xbox rather than PC, due to graphics on PC being better, but damn, the X makes me not care at all. It looks gorgeous on the X. I spend too much time just hanging around the pyramids looking at the scenery while NPC's are waiting for me to continue a quest.
