Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins
Played until I got my camel and got to the first town last night. Not too impressed with the graphics to be honest, a little bit of jerkiness on the Xbox One S on the draw in (slight but it's there)...but then I bought this for the Xbox Scorpio anyways so will be interesting to compare the two versions.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins
I told myself that I would wait until the new Xbox came out to purchase this game, but I caved after reading impressions. Downloading now.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins
Game is so huge.........I spent 4 hours in the 1st city. Finally left it. Game of The Year. Enemies in this game is no joke. Wonder into the wrong region when you aren't equipped enough and you will die pretty fast. I love the hunting aspect of it and crafting. Love just blazing through the water in boats. Graphics on the PC version all maxed out is just INSANE. Love the giant variety of weapons too. The level of detail they put on all those Egyptian ruins is just crazy. At times I caught myself just looking at all the artwork and stuff on the buildings. Still haven't made it to Alexandria yet. Do love the fact they have all the regions labeled with what ranks all the enemies are at in that area.Comment

Assassin's Creed: Origins
I've changed my mind now, it does look great on Xbox One S, imagine it will be insane on the Scorpio

Assassin's Creed: Origins
I have only played for about an hour and while I was hunting I got snuck up on by a level 1 leopard (at least I think it was a leopard) and it almost killed me. It took me by complete surprise. Loving the game so far.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins
I've loved AC games for a long time but was kind of worried about this one because it doesn't look like the classic ACs. After reading through this thread though i think i might actually give it a try, always wanted to explore Egypt.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins
This game is everything. It definitely lives up to the hype for me. Game world is vast and beautiful. The weapon selection is great and fits everybody play style. You have long weapons, duel wield, sword & shield, blunt weapons and giant heavy weapons. Also like the fact you have several different kinds of bows & arrows.
FYI people need to realize this is the very beginning before Assassins were even a thing. So you will not have access to everything that you were use to seeing in the other games right off the bat. The more you play and progress through the game, the more stuff you will learn and get access to. My skill tree is leveled up enough that I can now buy resources for crafts from town merchants. That is cool, even though I love hunting animals, but a few things, like the metals and wood is kind of scarce to come by so far.
Last night I wiped out an entire pride of lions. It was soooooo fun. Wiped out a hippo den as well. Hunting is pretty much the quickest way to make money, so hunt as often as you can. Also learned you can avenge other players death in this game, which is cool. The kill animations with the various weapons is still AWESOME as ever. You have a choice of buying weapons or simply upgrading your weapons. I prefer upgrading, especially when I find a weapon I like the look of. I am about a level 19 or level 20 now.
So far for me, this game is a 10 out of 10.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins
This game is just ridiculously good. Anyone on the fence, for whatever reason, get off that fence, cause this has righted the AC ship to a great degree. The last two installments have had their issues, granted Syndicate was pretty good, but this has place AC back on their high pedestal, IMO.
The map is huge, and gorgeous. Tons to do. So far I have only gotten tot he larger map portion and spent tons of time just clearing out caves, camps, etc, but I need to increase my gear and level to do most of it, but just looking at the map, you can tell this game and map is chock full of good stuff to do. Good thing they took extra year to make this game, cause it shows in their creativity, changes to battle, changes to weapons, and a serious RPG aspect to it all. If you liked the Witcher, you'll like this game. You get a Witcher feel to the gear, quests, etc.
One thing I think is cool is randomly when playing, I'll see one the map a marker that says something like, "xXxXGamergirlfakegamertagXxXx was killed, avenge their death..." etc etc. So basically someone else playing the game near me, died, and if I go and kill who killed them, the NPC that is, I get some extra XP and loot. I kinda wish you could almost see people playing the game as well, running around, sort alike Fable was back in the day with their orbs.
Anyway, fantastic game, and totally worth the wait.Comment
